dont get me started lol, im waiting for my ported box right now, found one on ebay that has atleast 2.8-3.0 cf per chamber for these rf punch2 15. i still think my jlw3v2 was the cleanest sounding subs i owned. well cant beat 300 for 2 15s and a box for last year model, good thing i work at a audio shop part time.
Lolol reading all this is pretty good stuff. Yes, JL makes a good speaker, but YES they are way overrated and over-priced. Speakers are really a personal preference. From there, the key is power and air space. If you get those two things right you can have a much louder and harder hit than larger speakers, no matter the brand. I personally want a more "clean" set up that looks good or cant be seen as well as sounds good...not ridiculous, lol. I just built a false floor in my wife's scion and placed one shallow fosgate 10 in it. Will it win a show? No. Does it sound nice for everyday driving, hell yes. Not to mention IF we get pulled over, it'll be hard to find lol.
