I noticed today the "Slip Indicator" light didn't come on at start up...

Then with a little snow on the ground it didn't come on when the tires slipped either.

Is that a replaceable bulb???

How the heck do you get at it??

I'm sure the bulb is replaceable and getting the cluster out is pretty simple too. With a simple search you'll be able to find a thread with pictures.

I love these write ups that start with half the dash already apart!!! If I read it correctly the outer bezels will just pull off and then have the access to the cluster???

Your on the right track, heres the instructions to install Kliv's VSC off mod, its unrelated to what you want to do but it does have the instructions to remove the dash cluster.

Thanks, I interpreted one set of instructions as the bezel was separate from the dash, that was my mistake. Now I see what I need to do. Looks like it will wait til spring time!!

pulling the cluster literally takes 2 minutes. 2 screws at bottom of panel below steering wheel, pull it off, pop off the black panel around the bezel, unhook 2 plugs on back (dimmer and something else)
remove 3 screw 2 bottom one top for the cluser, (dull grey) unscrew shiny gold screws that hold on wiring harnesses and its out, i did it about 7 times when doing the led swaps. on a second note it IS NOT a bulb, it is an led that is surface soldered onto the board. check out http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-g...ster-hvac-switches-window-steering-wheel.html

for pics from there on. page 4 has more pics, and some after that. i did radio and dash led swap took probably 4 hrs total. (the switched are harder to put leds in, the soldering on the board os waaaay eaiser.
