Wayyy to much. Heres a better idea of price, I ran it with that 4runners info.

Below I also ran mine for comparison, theirs according to kbb.com is worth almost double mine. Which is probably true, but not $20k!

If they were driving it a steady 2500 miles a year I wouldn't be worried. What if they did drive it 10k for 2 years and almost parked it? Would be interesting to pull a carfax and see if its been driven or just parked.
I agree that the price is way too high, it's still 8 years old.

It might be rare, but I still trust KBB for the most part, I think they get things in the ballpark.
Just becasue something is rare doesnt mean its worth a bunch of money; its value is whatever the current market is for that specific thing. And I dont think the market is more than $20k for this 4runner.

yea 20k is a bit too high, somewhere around 15k would be good, 16 or 17k would be pushing it.
think about it though, if you bought this car right now, and everything was near factory condition. then you could easily drive this car for another 10-15 years by then it would be a lil over 300k if u took good care of it!

20k and it's not even a 4wd?
If it was a 4wd Limited it might be worth close to that, but I don't see why anybody would pay that much for a 2wd 4runner unless they just love the body style. Not when you could get a 4th gen for the same price or less (last year when I was shopping 4th gens I found quite a few 4th gen 4wd models with under 45,000 miles for less than $20k.)

Tell me about it, I live down here in Statesboro and had to drive to North Carolina to get mine after 2+ months hard looking. Down here they just go fast and pricey.

This one puts up a red flag for me personally. Most people know that the truck would be worth 3 or 4 times more with low miles like that so it would make me really wonder if the guy turned the odometer back. If it means they'll get $10K more than what they would have got for a 150K truck, people do it unfortunately and it actually happens quite a lot.
If the miles are really that low, like Maxil said, it could have been driven for 10K for the 1st 2 years and then just been sitting and rotting for the last 6 years which would be a bad idea to buy IMO. Those kinds of vehicles usually require more $$ and maintenance than a well taken care of vehicle with 100K+. Just my opinion.

Rare find yes, cool yes, worth it no. if it had all the URD treatment and stuff it would be worth it but you don't know its history hell they might have even rolled back the odometer.

No, rare items don't follow market value because there rare, there is no competition so they can get whatever they ask for because there the only one with the item, so who ever is willing to pay, your not going to find it anywhere else

You're right, whoever is willing to pay. But everything has a market value, even rare items. So if the market value for a 2wd 3rd gen is typically (x) but people are willing to pay 
for a good one with low miles, then asking for (z) is out of line. IMHO 20k is out of the market, but I could be wrong. I don't know the market, I am speculating. I just don't think anyone looking for a 3rd Gen 4runner is going to pay 20k!
I'm a big eBayer, buying and selling on there in unique items I find at flea markets etc. One way I determine the market value is to research completed auctions or sales, NOT asking prices. A completed sale is a better indicator of market value, and to date I have not seen a basic 3rd Gen 4runner even with very low miles go for $20k

You're missing the point. There is no "market value" for something like this. How many 3rd gens with 20k miles have sold in the past year? I would guess none. I would guess there are less than a handful in existence that have that low of mileage, so it truly is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
