I want new tires but....

I want new tires on my 4 runners (more aggressive), but I've got some steering wheel vibration issues. Been through the ringer with the dealer and ended up with some michilin tires from them that slightly helped the problem.

Any tire places have a good return policy? I'd like to try some out and if they exacerbate the issue, then go back.

I've always been really happy with Discount Tire... and they have at least a 30 day return policy.

Go here and find a local place, call and ask them if they know what a Hawke adapter is. If they know what it is, ask for their tire balancing "guy." He is probably over 50. Tell them you want it balanced right. Index tires, do whatever needs to be done, and they'll probably get it right. It will likely cost $100 or more, but it will be well worth it.

Discount Tire!! They will take care of you for sure! They even purchased my stock Bridgestone's when I got my Duratrac's.

Tire Vibration

The last I heard discount tire does not use a road force balancer. If you have a Toyota product it most likely not be balanced perfectly. I use a local Michelin dealer and have had great results. Their tire prices are as good discount tire and they look like a professional shop. Quite a few discount tire places I have seen look second rate and therefore I am not inclined to even consider them. Price should not be the sole determining factor when it comes to purchasing something.

If this were me, I'd be holding the dealer's feet to the fire to resolve this problem. If another tire store/alignment shop is the answer - so be it - let the dealer take that responsibility.

I do not understand owners who cave on these things, when a new vehicle can, and should be, made right. If new tires are the answer - so be it. Make the dealer prove it, and work out some satisfactory deal.

BUT, if new Michelins did not solve the problem, you've got other issues - IMO of course.
