[MENTION=6047]Range[/MENTION] - the grille going from 03-05 to 06+ is taller, so you'll have interference with your bumper. Either cut into the bumper or shorten the height of the grille and work with fiber glass/bondo.
Good luck - I went through [MENTION=50591]gaterose[/MENTION] for mine and it looks awesome. Be patient: he's busy with other work, there are A LOT of request for these, and the 03-05's are require more work.
Update: Finally painted and mounted my Toyota emblem!

I have a Shrockworks bumper now and there's quite a bit of space now so I "think" it shouldn't be a problem but I've been thinking about changing the headlights to the newer 06-09 for the look. A pricey option I know. Thank you very much for the help though. I didn't know there was a height difference.

I believe Shrockworks made two bumper designs: one for 03-05 and one for 06-09. If you already have the 06-09 design, you'll be fine with a 06-09 grille.
Find a friend with a 06-09 4Runner to test fit grilles or find a cheap one online...

I got a question.. Is there a way to re-enforce the bottom part of the grille? I tried popping my hood and noticed that my latch got stuck unless I pulled the bottom part out then the hood would un latch and go up..

Not sure what reinforcing the grille would do, since the shape of the grille doesn't change. If it's getting caught maybe you have it upside down, or it got bent when you removed it?
At this point I'm definitely going to do this myself, but I'm going to walk out to my truck tomorrow morning (in a couple of hours?) with the intent of figuring a game plan to do my 04 and then I'm going to walk right back in the house in heartbreaking disappointment.

Hey man, I have a 3rd gen 4Runner and I just bought the same satoshi " TOYOTA " logo but I'm having troubles with the grill itself, so how big is the grill? Like holes in the grill... Thanks man!

This thread has once again inspired me to try building a satoshi grill. I was going to try it years ago but life happened and I never got around to it. I sold the mesh to a buddy of mine. Just ordered new mesh and now to find a "TOYOTA " emblem I like that won't break the bank. Also have some black headlights coming as well.

I felt the same I was gonna try to get someone to build it for me since college took a lot of my time but then I decided to build it myself. It didn't take that much time. Plus I like to tell people "Yeah I build that grille" haha. A few weeks back I opened my headlight and painted it black and tinted the plastic cover inside the headlight and I put some RGB halos. (Don't judge I like halos) I'm going to level my 4Runner hopefully next week with Daystar Budget Boost

I normally am not too big a fan on Halos because they tend to look way too BMW-esque. But that little double halo effect just makes it stand on it's own. Bravo!

I just ground the back flat and epoxied the Emblem on permanent like.

so i should have my grill for this mod in the next day or two. i was looking at the grills by homertaco over on tacomaworld and like the look of the "thin lip" and want to know if anyone has done this. i dont like the look of the bends on the end of the mesh from what i see a lot of people do and the other option i see done i think the mesh sits to far back.
