ICON Install HELP and Advice

I was speaking to my Toyota Dealer who is also an ICON dealer. He was telling me that the ICON system is direct and simple replacement. Can anyone provide me some direction to help me feel more comfortable with the install?

Thanks

Do you have KDSS on your TE? That makes it a little harder then the SR5/Limited. There's a bunch of DIY write-ups on lift install. I have Icons on my 4Runner and installed them myself. What part of Texas are you in?

Don't have ICONs but I helped with the install of my suspension and probably could do it on my own now. Helps to have a second set of hands too.

Harper, I do have the KDSS on my Trail Edition. I am in Dallas and would gladly come to Ft. Worth (and eat at Joe T. Garcia's) and beg for assistance when I get the goods.

I installed my OME on my Land Rover single-handedly, took me forever but I felt a great sense of accomplishment afterwards. Then I watched the videos about the spring compressors, and said several prayers of thanks that I am still living with all appendages....Rover is a solid axle so there is not so much SCHTUFF to deal with. The IS scares me a little. Jacque at TRD swears it's easy but it sure would be nice to have someone standing nearby that actually knew what the heck it should look like after install. I am a few months away from scrounging the $$$ together.

Another question is which setup to get. I am not a serious rock crawler, but occasionally I do get in situations where I need some good suspension along with decent clearance. I will add a front ARB bumper at some point (no winch), have a RTT (120#'s), Engel Fridge, usually carry 10 gallons of gas on an outing, along with assorted other gear, shower, port o pottie, kitchen, groceries, etc.

But, it is my DD so I dont want the empty weight to ride like a half-track either.

The Icon system is easy to put on. If you decide to go with the remote reservoirs with the KDSS, you will have to use some self tapping screws (now supplied with the shocks) to install to the mounts for the reservoirs.
