ICON rear shock question

My ICON 57710s didn't come with any instructions and I have a couple of questions before I mount them.

*) What direction should the reservoir face?
*) What is the spike coming off the reservoir for? Parts bag has small mounting clamps that might be used to hold the reservoir in position by placing the clamp over the spike and attaching it to the frame. Is that correct or is the clamp for something else?
*) Parts bag has spacers that I guess are for the top mount, is that correct?

Yep, but I was planning to install them tomorrow and ICON won't get back to me to at least Monday, more likely Tuesday or Wednesday.

Wrong shock. The 57710s mount differently since the reservoir is piggybacked to the main shock body with a spike coming off it.

Sorry about previous post. Yup. Dead wrong. I did come across this image:

That shows the hose clamp secured to vehicle and spike resting in it. (4th image)

The Res faces forward and that aluminum rod welded on is supposed to be held forward by that clamp and bolt to keep it from rotating. .

There is a threaded hole in the frame right by where it sits however it needed a different clamp as the hole didn't line up in the one they sent. It needed to be longer.

You can see in my pic that I used a big zip tie to hold it for a longest time. I've since used some steel clamps and made use of that threaded hole.

The bushings go down where the shock attaches to the axle using the factory bolt ,one on the forward side and on aft side of the bottom shock bushing.
