Not to derail here... but where is the "best" off-road outfit(s) around Boulder?

I was looking at John's 4x4 to install a lift but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure about 'best' but I have had great experiences with Slee Offroad on Hwy 93. They installed my OW 2.5 lift, came in under the quote and helped me with another question/issue on my sliders gratis.

I would definitely recommend them again.

Finally got the measurements done for you. BLUF: You're looking at a ~3.5" difference with the Icon Stage 1 and 285s installed. Take into account here I didn't measure at the exact same spot on the roof rack in the photos, but I was at right around 72" at the highest point of the rack before and I'm at about 75" at the highest point now.

Also, disclaimer: these aren't my hands holding the tape.

You're looking at about the same difference at the wheel wells, too.

Hmm Interesting.

It looks like you went from 34.75" in the front to 38.75", a 4" increase!

In the rear, from 36.25" to 38.75", a 2.5" increase from the 2" spring! That is what I was interested in is seeing how much the Icon rear spring lifted.

That is a lot of lift.

EDIT: I realized that you also installed tires. That probably added 0.50" to 0.60", so the suspension lifted 2" in the rear and 3.5" in the front. That seems better and is interesting that the 2" icon spring really lifted it by two inches.

I will see what the 1.5" Sway Away rear spring does this weekend.

My starting numbers are a bit different than yours because I have more weight than you with my BB sliders and skids. Looks like my truck is starting 1/2" lower in the front and 3/4" lower in the rear than yours.

My numbers as measured last week:

Left Front 34.375", ground to fender
Left Front 19.5", center hub to fender

Right Front 34.25", ground to fender
Right Front 19.25", center hub to fender

Left Rear 35.75", ground to fender
Left Rear 21", center hub to fender

Right Rear 35.5", ground to fender
Right Rear 20.5", center hub to fender

Center of Front BB skid plate to ground is 9-3/16"

To BB skid at exhaust crossover is 8.5"

I'll take an accurate measurement again before I install the suspension because I installed a roof rack today. And I want to make sure the amount of gas etc. is the same pre / post to make the numbers accurate and meaningful.

I think the difference between the original shop mentioned here and you is that you will take the time to read the instructions.

If I had the space to do it myself, I probably would have done it myself because it's really just bolting things into place then taking it to a shop to get it aligned. The shop in question here had a kid that was brand new, didn't read the instructions, and no one checked his work. If you know how a suspension works fundamentally, have some technical cognizance, and the space/tools to do it yourself then I say go for it. I really doubt you can mess-up as many things as this shop messed-up if you do your research and, as Qjake said, :rtfm:.
