ICON tubular UCAs?

Approx lift:
Approx max caster with close to 0 camber:


Trying to decide between these and Total Cahos. I like that the Icons have a cover option.. but the TC seems to position the ball very well.

I have them and their nice little caps. I don't know the answer to your questions though. It was brought in spec and drives nice with about a 2" lift.

The Total Chaos ones give you more caster from what I recall. And the caps are a gimmick. I took them off of my Billet ones so that the Uniball can breath.

Is there a reason for changing from the Camburgs with bjs? I have the camburgs on backorder with Wheeler's. Just wondering if they failed or you just upgrading?

The caps also don't stop mud, water, etc. from getting into the uniball from underneath. Just seals the moisture in so they take longer to dry.

The Camburgs have worked for me without issue, however I recently got 34" tires and I need the upper ball pulled in a tad more to get the wheels a little more forward (for clearance at full stuff) and maintain camber.

There is also the nagging factor that the bigger heavier tires may be too much stress for the ball joints. Overall. I've been very happy with the camburgs. No noise and smooth maintenance free operation.

I'm actually not sure if the TC or Icons will solve my issue... I know the light racing UCAs would, but I'm not confident about the strength of those.

Good point about the caps only helping on the top. With BJ style you have the boot on the bottom.

At least you have gravity in your favor on the bottom of the ball. On the top it seems like it just gathers to grind its way down...

Get the Total Chaos ones.

I have them and no problems at all. With many many camping/offroading trips with them.

I cant totally comment on the Icons as I just got them on yesterday and am taking it to alignment today, but so far, they seem solid. Install was a breeze. I can update after alignment.

Regarding TC, I have those on my 2012 Silverado and they have been flawless since the beginning. I dont think you can go wrong with TC, but like you said, Im not sure either are going to give you much advantage over your current Camburg?

got my 4runner aligned today and easily got 4degrees caster while keeping camber and toe right in the middle of specs. Hopefully that helps you out?

btw, the lift is the icon ext travel coilovers set at factory setting, so approx 2.5 inches i think.

I was under the impression that the billlet and the tubular have different caps. The billet are fitted caps with no seal. the tubular use 3M seals with adhesive... Prob not good if you submerge them but would be surprised if much got past them. Definitely keeps out the dirt from building up in the cup.
Could be completely confused though, did the billet version come with seals?
