Idea fro Sliding Tray Mat

The carpet on my sliding tray is fraying and is a dog hair magnet. The mats I've seen are flimsy, unsecure and of similar carpet grade as those of the OEM. My thought was to fabricate a mat that attaches to the bottom of the tray (similar to a bed's top sheet). Material can either be high traffic carpet or some rubberized surface or both with the necessary cutouts for the release lever and the stop bar. I plan to see my upholsterer so he can begin the process.

What do you all think?

i think its a pretty good idea.....but i think you could do it yourself for just as cheap....go to a carpet place, get a good piece of remnant....then get some of that bathroom floor matt stuff....the anti skid stuff......use some of the 3m adhesive stuff, and cut it all to fit. voila!

Low Tech

Bought a universal mat from WeatherTech. Cut it to fit. Looks fine, doesn't slide. Just need a straight edge and a utility knife.

Cargo liner fits on top of Sliding Rear Cargo Deck. The liner will not lay completely flat in vehicles with the optional "Cargo Divider" which attaches to the front edge of the cargo deck--unless this option is removed.

So... nothing really out there.

Does the OEM mat work on the sliding cargo tray? The OEM mat in my wife's Venza is pretty decent quality, but maybe the 4Runner version isn't?
