I'd recommend the Craven Speed Stubby Antenna. Look at the awesome box they send you. HAHA And here is a before and after.

i don't listen to the radio at all. BUT, i did test it out and it seemed fine to me. I've read that the reception is still 80 miles out or so, as opposed to 100 miles out with the big antenna. They also said that the local stations works fine. It was worth my $20 bucks.

Craven Stubby Install?

So very stupid question.. I've read every post in this thread and decided to grab the Craven Stubby because it was easy and the radio stations have decent coverage in my area (ie, i get most of them without an antenna installed at all).
Anyway.. I bought the Stubby for the 2011 4runner, I thought I had seen that no other hardware was required with it.
How exactly did anyone get this to install properly with the included hardware? Mine came with a 1/2 inch M5 bolt, and an even shorter fatter bolt. The fatter bolt doesn't fit the car or the antenna, and the M5 only screwed in a single twist in the car, doesn't leave enough length to put the antenna even 1 single turn. It seems like this bolt would need to be at least 2 inches long, preferably longer..
I called them, but they don't actually answer their phone.. it goes to voicemail and they say "we answer our voicemails..". Anyhow, I had it overnighted to install yesterday.. I guess because of how easy it was I never imagined I'd have to call them, but I mark their support as 'fail' not having someone actually answer a phone during the day, or call back in the same day.
I went to lowes to try and find an M5 bolt.. and found one, but the few they have I can't clip the head off and still keep it threadable (lack of equipment on my side, regular snips couldn't cut the bolt, and hacksaw left it in a state that its not threadable, i suck i know).
Anyhow, did you guys get a 3rd bolt that came with it, or am I missing some magic connection between the fat bolt that fits nothing, and the short bolt that can't get either side connected? Or did they send me the wrong antenna kit and some other longer bolt should have been with it?
Their instructions don't indicate a 3rd bolt is required.. and they are insanely simple.. put bolt into antenna, screw antenna onto car.. hard to mess that up. but if i thread that bolt into the antenna so its firm, it barely makes contact with the other threads (not to mention the threads are about about 1/2 inch into the hole on the car side.)

yeah man, mine installed the same as jpowers. 1 antenna and 1 bolt i screwed the bold into the antenna, unscrewed the factory antenna and then screwed in the new antenna by hand. That was literally it.

Yeah, hopefully they'll get back to me Monday. The invoice has CRTT-0015 / Toyota 4Runner (2002-2011) on it.
There's very feint black text on the "Craven Speed" sticker on the box once looking close at it, that says "CRMC-0001-Z" "Bracket Z", which isn't even an antenna.. it's a gauge mounting bracket they sell.. (Obviously not whats in the box).
There may have been text on the other side too, but it's 100% covered by a UPS label that isn't coming off.
Anyway, you guys answered my question.. doesn't have the parts that should have been in it and doesn't match the invoice/purchased item.

Thought I'd chime in here for any Canadian's looking at the Mangowalk antenna. There is no Auto Zone in Canada so the simple fix for the lack of proper antenna adapter that other poster's have mentioned is not an option. I looked into having one shipped from Auto Zone...also not possible. I could've just ordered the Craven antenna, but I liked the extra inch on the Mangowalk.
After a little searching though, I found that Canadian Tire carries a replacement antenna that has the proper hardware that fits both the Mangowalk and the 4runner. It's called the E2 Rubber Replacement Mast Product # 35-0095-2 for $9.95.
