omg Ruffian, I have been sitting here for DAYS thinking about this question and I kept coming back to, I'd rather have a horse than have to get anything but a 4runner again...

Next to a ride on a well trained reining Quarter Horse, I can't say other than in my 4Runner another ride has made me grin for no other damn reason than I'm simply too happy to keep the giddiness inside.
I've got a buckskin filly out in CO that needs to come to CA to get her learning. She's only 2 so I'm at least 3 or more years off having an equine trail companion again. Until then, in my 4Runner I'll keep riding off into the sunset. Happy trails!

Do not knock VW! That is my daily drive and I have a diesel Golf and it works like a charm..that is my 3rd VW in 10 years never had an issue with any of them.

What year and milage? My dad has a 99.5 jetta 5 speed tdi 233k miles, i put more miles on that than the 4runner because of the mpg's.

Didn't realize how close you are to me! haha. I work with horses too... just leasing now but eventually I WILL have my Perch/TB.

I'd walk too. Or just save my money and buy me my horse. Horses are expensive but theyre cheaper than owning/"fixing"/maintaining anything labeled as American!

Like SandMan said, I would be on my bike or roller blades. Hell those two would be more reliable than the pos that my father-in-law has (02 Tahoe).....

If I HAD to choose an American make, then it would definitely be a Chevy Silverado with the Duramax engine.

My family has a farm and I drive the 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the Vortec 6.0 all the time and I actually like the truck. It is actually very reliable and it takes its tough and harsh duties really well.

I am about foreign cars all the way ..but one thing I really like about the American brands is the cabin space. Everytime I rented a car for a long trip it has been an american. One time I tried a corolla thinking of saving on the gas ...and 2 minutes after ... I made a U turn and exchanged it for a chevy Impala even though I hate the look of that car I got to admit it is very comfortable vehicle. I really didn't care about the brand but for the comfort of the ride for the long trip. Thats one thing I like from American brands over the foreign for sure.

I wouldn't pay $$$ on any of the big 3 American brands ford, chevy, dodge, chrysler, gmc, etc. I would definately buy me a Harley Davidson soft tail. Whats more American than that! If i want to go off roading Ill Rent me a horse.

The G8 is actually made by an Australian car company called Holden (In Australia its called the Holden Commodore). That explains why its a more badass, better engineered, longer lasting car than any other pontiac (or any GM for that matter).

I think I would want a four door Wrangler, or a Ford Raptor...

I would definetly get a Ford F150 or 250. Just for the simple fact that Ford didn't take bailout $. Why give the other makers more of my money for a car that they should be giving me for bailing their a$$es out?
