If you could have any other SUV besides a 4Runner..

I love my 4runner as well...but if gas prices were not an issue I would have to go for an older landcruiser w/ the 4.7 V8. I REALLY like the 80 series, but would have to do an engine swap for more power, hince the later model w/ the V8. With gas prices high like they are, I also would probably go for a 4 door Tacoma, although I would miss the heck out of my V8!
Next in line would be a used Sequoia, 05'-07' ish. Seem like they have lots more room that my 4runner which would be a good thing.

I have or have had every gen 4runner except 5th I have had 3 fj40's which I loved each one I have a lot of friends with FZJ80's So I would have to go with a defender 90. I have always loved them.

I owned a 2010. Big truck, crappy on gas, very powerful, body feel thin and sounds "tin-ish". Not worth even $40k for the SR5.

I'd have to go with the FJ60 or original FJ40. Love the lifted look. It'd be getting an engine swap though!

Quite right,the Q7 is really nice but super expensive.BMW X6 and Tahoe are nice too,Lets all remember why we bought our Runners,great reliability,great utility and fantastic resale value that you just won't get with Cherokess,Blazers,and most domestics unfortunately.Gotta love a 4RUNNER!!!:

I'd like to have something with a turbo diesel in it, such as a Mercedes ML350 CDI, ML350 CDI, or VW Touareg TDI.
If I was going to pop for the Touareg, I might as well import a diesel landcruiser or Land Rover Defender.

Knight XV
Coolest SUV I've ever seen is a Knight XV (Made by Conquest out of Canada I believe). Here is a pic of one standing next to a Hummer2. IMO, these are pretty awsome. Price tag of about $500K will keep it well out of my reach though....
