If you would get a full-size truck, what would you get?

it depends on what you mean by "full size truck" if i just needed a slightly bigger truck than the tacoma then i'd look at a tundra, or maybe the new nissan, but after owning a '95 nissan hardbody, i doubt i'd want another nissan. the import "full size trucks" are more like "7/8th trucks", the japanese just can't seem to make a big truck. but if by "full size truck" you mean "i need to pull a house" then i'd look at an F-250 (or 350 they're the same truck) diesel. i agree that ford's quality isn't nearly as good as toyota, but sometimes it would be nice to have a 7500 pound truck that can out run most cars on the road. last year i was thinking about getting a new truck and was seriously considering an F-350. i have no need to pull a heavy trailer or anything, but the diesels can reguarlly handle 200-300,000 miles of hard work, i figured i could probably get a half million miles out of it if i used it as a daily driver. and since they're diesels they get about 20 mpg which is just a little less than i get in my 4runner which weighs 1/2 as much. in the end, i just decided to add an old '89 4runner to my stable and not buy the new truck. i think it was a better decision, i have no car payments and maintenance is alot cheaper.

What's the difference between the current and next model of the Tundra? I voted for the new Tundra, cause usally newer is better

I'd never buy a domestic and I don't care for the Titan too much

Was really close to

getting a Dodge Diesel Ram 3/4 ton Cummins 600. Did all sorts of research for 9 months wanting a diesel. I don't tow or anticipate towing, but I put plenty of miles on my Tahoe and wanted a truck that can do 500,000 easy. Cummins is probably the best dieself and most reliable diesel on the market, with an estimated 350,000 miles to overhaul in commercial applications. Dodge has also improved its quality greatly and now receives JD Powers best rating for initial quality survey and surpasses Ford and Chevy.

Dodge interiors are much better and well thought out in the last 3 years and is quie comfortable.

Ford's diesel is just terrible and Chevy's injector problems is only a bit better. Their interiors are so and so and nothing to brag about.

However, Dodge is also known for the lowest cost per vehicle and it shows. Single one piece door panels. Just one piece of plastic is terrible for a $40k-$47k truck. NO door panel lights. Just a reflector. Owners also complain about cheesy headlights that can't illimunate ht eroad without being on high, not even a hood blanket for noise and heat insulation, and constant nagging problems like drive line vibrations to abotu 1/3 of the trucks.

But they have that Cummins, HUGE fully boxed rails from front to rear, and the biggest best brakes in the truck business. 13.9 inch rotors! IT has the tighest turning radius and the nicest ride without the jiggling and harshness that comes with super duties.

None of the Big 3 can match Toyota's quality and reliability and i had alreayd decided that if I were to get gas, I'd go with Toyota first and Nissan second.

So after getting yanked around by two Dodge dealers--and I was ready to write a check that day.....I decided to give Toyota a try...and the rest is history.

Rumours abound that Toy will make a 3/4 ton and a diesel.....

now that dream truck is a Dodge built by Toyota using a Cummins 600.

If I went to a full size, I'd get a Dodge 3500 diesel dually...

I would want something to haul around my next home, a 5th wheel...

I have driven Dodges, Fords, Chevys....don't like the Dodge. Just my pref. Chevy is ok, good engine, but I have a bad taste for GM products...long story involving a Suburban...
Ford: Gimme an F350 extra cab shortbox in Forest Green (to match my T4R) with the diesel. I don't need a truck often, but when I do, I need a TRUCK. I am thinking a KW T800 chassis, stretched with dual drive axles and a big nasty flatbed with under-bed boxes would be more like it. But then again...Kenworths are short on legroom...make it a Freightliner I think...Last one of those I drove was actually quite nice...

Wow, this is a very old thread that I never knew that I started quite some time.

And now the new Tundra's out.

Of course, now that I am hearing the Pathfinder will get the Titan's 5.6L V-8 next model year...
