It's an 03. It's that same pin, closest to the master cylinder, grounded straight to the native battery terminal, that's it. I tried to undo it, but that's the only way the fogs work. The wire is basically shoved in between the pin and the fuse box.

Are you saying you put pin 1 of the fog relay straight to the battery ground?

I believe it's pin 1, yes. There is another "constant fog light mod" that proposes this. I did it when I first got the truck back in 2010 and totally forgot about it till recently.

Pin 1 needs to be "switched", meaning the ground comes from the fog switch. If you grounded it directly, plus routed pin 2 to an ignition activated 12V+ power source, then that is why the fogs are on all the time. My mod doesnt tough pin 1 at all.

relay should be fine, right? I did the constant window power mod so I have an extra if needed.

Yes, relay will be ok. Just put pin 1 back into the socket.

Tried it today, didn;t work. No idea, now the fogs don't come on AT ALL. I tried connecting pin #2 directly to the + post, still nothing.
:help:Got them to turn back on, but fogs ONLY work when that Pin #1 is grounded. I'll try adding the pine #2 +, no way that can't work, tomorrow. I broke the freakin relay bending the pin, anyone have a PN for a non-toyota relay that is that style? Only ones I can find on amazon were 15 bucks, can I get these at an autozone type place?
also, just tried my brilliant idea, shoved a wire into the pin #2 socket, ran that to +, and ran the one on pin one to -, blew a high beam bulb out. Weird... and when i did that, everything went on even if it was off but I think i understand why that happened and that was dumb, just didn't want to bend another relay just to break it. Once I get another relay tomorrow i'll mess with it and try grounding pin 1 and the socket of pin one since thats all that seems to work and then bending up pin 2 and running a + wire to it. and gettoing a new high beam bulb, or not. I have my 40" led bar for high beams..

There's the original mod with a pic. I definitely f'ed something up, the fogs will ONLY work when that pin is grounded. I'm thinking i'll bend that pin up and run a ground to it, then do your mod to the other side? that should give me what I need to the coil to always be activated.

If you bend up #1 and ground it, AND bend up #2 and put that to 12V+ Ignition, the fogs will be on anytime the vehicle is on since the coil is activated. But the fog switch wont work anymore. Not sure why you would want that.
What are you trying to accomplish? The "ability to switch the fog lights on anytime, as well as to have them remain on while the high beams are activated". If so then just follow my mod exactly. I dont see why the original mod you did wouldnt be reversible.

I don't either, but when I tried your mod, it didn't work, when I switched relays, it didn't work. So I guess maybe i'll leave the pin grounded the way it is and then try bending up number 2 and connecting to to a +? Basically the mod doesn't seem to be reversing itself. When i tried your mod, nothing happened, fogs would not switch on unless I shoved a ground in pin #1
I just want to have control over them where the switch will turn them on/off any time regardless of what other lights are on :redbrick:

Where were you running #2 to get the 12V+ when you had removed the ground from #1?

First I tried an empty fuse box slot then I tried directly to the + post of the battery.

Since I have the limted where does the mini fuse tap go? To my understanding, and I quote "if you have a Limited and therefore an IG relay, you can obtain ignition activated 12V+ power at the 25amp seat heater fuse. Just substitute a mini fuse tap for the male disconnect" the two male ends of the fuse tap goes in where? In place of heater relay as I read?[:help:/B]

First of all with a Limited you are still going to do this...
"Remove the fog light relay located in the engine room relay box and bend prong #2 so that it no longer inserts into its usual location."
BUT since you have a limited and therefore you have a relay in the IG socket you will not be running the other end of the wire to the IG socket or relay to obtain ignition activated 12V+.
Instead you will put the mini fuse tap onto the seat heater fuse. Put it onto the top most leg of the fuse.
Then crimp on a female disconnect to the wire coming off the fog light relay. then simply plug the female disconnect into the male side of the mini fuse tap sticking up out of the seat heater fuse.
Let us know how it goes.

I was able to do part one in the mod and it works great no issues.
On part two, splicing the wires from pins 17 and 16 (I also tried 17 and 2 with same result) instead of high beam and fog, i get high beam and low beam and no fog. Has any had this issue, or know of someone who has when attempting this mod? I had to repair some wiring that was cut following body repairs by a previous owner just to get the right fog working, and I don't know if other wiring was tampered with previously so I may be SOL for high beams and fogs that work on the switch.
