Infinity Kappa Install— No Sound?

So I've read all 17 pages of the Infiniti Kappa thread and finally decided to do it myself.

I have a 2012 Limited with the 15 speaker JBL system.

I removed the factory JBL speaker (such a weenie little magnet), and immediately found the wires on the Driver's side to be different colors than any mentioned so far:
Violet
Green
Yellow
Black

After looking at the factory connections to the old JBL speaker and noticing what looks to be a small capacitor on the green wire, I made the educated guess that Violet and Green are positive, Yellow and Black are negative.

Then I connected violet and green wires together carefully and hooked them in to the Kappa + side of the crossover. Then on to Yellow and Black and hooked them to the negative side of the crossover.

I tested for sound before reinstalling. I have no sound from this driver's side speaker :ybrick: (all others appear to work).

I've double checked all connections, even tried the other Kappa speaker to see if it was a product defect. No dice.

Any ideas?

So, just in case it helps someone with the same problem, I'm going to reply to my own thread to let anyone interested know how I "solved" the problem.

Two wires come out of the dash and into a plug. The plug splits the wires 8 ways, and then to four wires. These four wires plug directly into the factory speakers.

After experimenting with several different ways of hooking the four wires up, I could never get sound.

After quite a few tries, I simply cut the wires as they came out of the dash and before they reached the plug, then hooked the speakers straight in to positive and negative, and..........it works!

Not sure if I've messed up my Party Mode (it seems to work) or anything else, but it sounds much better and seems to work. I'll update this if anything changes.
