Has anyone tried these as replacements for the dash speakers? Found on amazon for $41 and was thinking maybe the 6.5 two-ways for the front and rear doors with no amp just factory deck. Leave the lift gate alone for now. To me the factory stuff has to much bass even set at 0 and treble set at 3. Just how my ears work.

I have them in the dash- everything else is stock. Sound is notably better than the factory speakers. A good upgrade for the price IMO. I helped install the Kappa's in Sp8all's truck and they both sounded the same - to me at least. I plan on an upgrade in the future with a small sub as well.

SOcalTRAIL have tried REF3032CF on his JBL Limited and he did not like it.
He did not notice any difference with KAPPAs (KAPPA32.9CF) either.

Of course we SR5 Non-JBL guys might have a different experience... I've personally chosen KAPPAs... but you gotta trust Antman, he :guitar2:

I did Kappas all the way around (3.5/6x9/6.5/6.5) and am very pleased with the results. I do have a 12in sub in the back and put a kappafour amp in to power the new speakers.

have any pictures, did you do it yourself? What did you use for fit kits?

I have a friend who works at a well know blue and yellow electronics retailer. He was kind enough to do the install for me. The 3.5s go in easy enough using the install directions found on this site. The 6x9s looked like they were going to be tricky, but we (ok, "he") built a mounting bracket from the stock speaker bracket frame...thing. Apologies; no pictures, but I might be able to work up an interpretive dance if folks like.

It took a couple hours, but wasn't too bad (especially for me).

The magnets on the stock speakers are absolutely comical compared to the Infinity speakers. One note: the new 6x9s are heavy enough that I have to push a little to get the tailgate to open fully. I have an idea for how to fix this that involves either bats and bungee cord, or helium balloons and duct tape. I need to check with a friend at Fish and Wildlife before I decide which route to go. Will post bat pics later.
