Installing rear diff lock on SR5

I put the ARB lockers in both front and rear of my SR5. They seem to work well. I did need to replace the rear breather check valve with an open ended vent hose. It seemed the check valve still allowed some pressure build up which forced some oil up the pneumatic tube into the ARB air compressor.
Several dealers sell and install the lockers; just look for them under the ARB heading.

What did two ARB lockers cost installed?
I gather you got an on board compressor, what did that cost? Any issues other than the one you mentioned. Are you happy with the mod or do you wish you had spent the money other places?

In my opinion nothing increases off road capability more than diff lockers. Tires are important and a lift helps, but keeping four wheels turning matters the most. Others may emphasize tires more, but if any aren't going around they aren't helping.
I don't remember exactly, but I think the ARBs were about $1500 each installed. At the time, they were having a free compressor deal if you bought a locker. Their smaller on-board compressor is plenty adequate for operating the lockers.

Harper says its a completely different rear end housing, I am not sure, have not looked all that carefully but I trust his opinion, cause you know he was looking for the same reason we were
I am very close to having 4.56s put in front and rear along with an ARB in the back. They will install ARB for free if installing gears. $350 for the front $300 for the rear for install. ARB costs about $800-900, rear gears are $800 right now because you can only buy OEM, front gears are $300. I have heard new aftermarket gears are almost done (2-3 months) and will be around $300.

BFLAN-are you saying that there are OEM 4.56 for the front and not 4.56 OEM for the rear yet? I think 4.56 would be a good choice. I have them now on my Jeep Wrangler & 33" and it is the perfect gear ratio. Please keep us posted!
There are aftermarket 4.56s available for the front. The only gears available right now for the rear are OEM, so they are very pricey. In about 2 months aftermarket rear gears will be available for less money.
Right now you can buy 4.56s for both front and rear. Its just that the rears are made by Toyota so they are much more expensive.
