Installing whip antenna. Couple quick questions

I got my parts today from Camelback and started my swap. I got old parts out and the assembly before I lost daylight. I'll finish up in the morning.

Couple quick questions.

1) Can I buy the plastic rivets/clips at the parts store to replace the ones I trashed removing the fender well liner?

2) I pulled the electrical plug for the old antenna motor back into the engine bay. Should I wrap it up with electrical tape or something to weather proof it? Or is there another good way to kill it? Or is it ok as is?

3) how critical is it to get the new antenna cable back in the clips the old one was in behind the dash? I didn't break them or anything but they're a pain to get to.

Not sure about the plastic clips.
I removed the entire old antenna wire...it is fine I'm sure the way you left it, I would only weatherproof if I had ideas about returning to a motorized antenna setup later.

It won't do any harm if you don't get all the clips on the wire, although it may rattle some as the wire bounces against things.

Those are great questions. I was able to salvage the retainer clips on mine. I'm not sure of a good way to remove or replace them, but that could certainly be useful info in the future.

For the electrical connection, I just left the "leader" as it was. No tape or anything. I don't plan on returning to the motorized antenna. I guess it's up to you.

I went through the hassle of putting the antenna cable back into the clips. It's a bit of a pain, but I wanted to do it right. I'm not sure what kind of stuff is back there and I wanted to make sure nothing snagged, burned, melted, cut, etc. the antenna I worked so hard to install. It's really not that bad and it's only about 4 clips, so I'd recommend you go ahead and do it. If everything's buttoned up, I wouldn't worry about it, though.

Thanks. I got it all back together. I think I got it back into 2 of 4 clips and gave up. I was able to get more of the plastic clips for the fender liner for like a buck each at the dealership.
If I had it to do over I'd tie a piece of string to the antenna wire before pulling it out so I would have the path that it traveled marked.

NAPA has the clips but they're the same price.( Balkamp 665-1378)
