Interest in SoCal meet up?

Who's running Cleghorn on 8/1?

So I was talking with a guy who ran Cleghorn a few days ago and he said that most of it was closed (meaning the good parts) and that only the boring parts are open so it's not worth the trip. Can anyone confirm?
 
The first two offshoots have been closed for a while, the rest was open as of last year but of course more closures may have occurred.

Just wanted to mention that because when websites say that parts are closed... it's not easy to tell if they mean the original parts or new parts beyond that or ???

But yeah, someone will just have to go and see.

If it is mostly closed, you can still take the Pilot Rock trail at the top, that was fun...

The otay lakes truck trail is very tame but it does offer some really good views and is still a fun trail, especially if it's really clear outside, i've been able to see coronado and downtown from the doghouse junction next to all the radio towers. Plus it's pretty neat to watch people parachute down. I'm game for that if anyone wants to go. I normally take the 94 down towards the trailer park and go at it from that direction.
 
Soooooo a personal matter came up this weekend and I'm not going to make it to the trail ride, still going to try to make it to the meet/greet Sunday. Sorry to Logan714 and Oneluv13T4R, hope to see you guys at the meet Sunday though!

not sure the best place to put this..

hey guys, long time lurker. just signed up tonight to ask for help. i know i know.. not the best way to get started here. allow me to introduce myself a bit. i have owned a '00 black limited AT 4runner now for the better part of a year. only made some cosmetic upgrades to it for the time being (painted wheels black, limo tint, plasti-decals, and removed the stock running boards). she just hit 190k miles the other day. with all of the reasearch that went into pre-purchase and now owenership, im looking forward to long-sweet-sweet relationship with this beauty!

but wanted to say i bumped into another t4r member several months back at an oreillys. he was super cool and told me to check out the meetup section for OC 4runners. if youre reading this, you showed me your new stereo deck (alpine?) and mentioned you meet up in lake forest sometimes??

my question to you all, i am about to purchase an external AT cooler and new radiator and wanted to see if you all had done this install yourself and be willing to walk me through it. im not comfortable enough when it comes to doing things like this to my car but willing to learn and get my hands dirty. if any of you would be willing to help me out, i can bring some tasty beers for you in return for your time and effort. im not talking cl smoothies either. i like the nicer craft beers our beautiful so cal has so plentifully provided for us..

anyone free next week during the evenings, i can drive to you to make it easiest or meet in a local spot? love to introduce myself and start participating in this great culture surrounding these awesome cars!

If your referring to this up coming weekend I'm unavailable..but I would be willing to help you the following weekend.
Unless someone else here is available sooner to help you out.

Its pretty basic.. many write ups here on radiator and trans cooler installs.
Ive done it to my 4th gen and 3rd gen. regardless of vehicle the process is the same.

hey Oneluv13T4R.. thanks for the reply. ive read through some install threads here and yota tech. both are very informative and well documented. im just not a gearhead by nature or trade and dont want to mess anything up by accident or through lack of knowledge. my skills lay heavily in the digital realm of things..

id be looking for help on monday night the 24th or tuesday the 25th ideally. if that works awesome, if not no worries at all. i realize im taking a shot in the dark here. reason for the immediacy is that im leaving for mexico and then burning man here starting on the 26th through the end of the month. will be driving my 4runner out to the desert and wanted to have peace of mind that shes all tuned up.

Well I might be able to work that out if that's the case. What time you available on Monday? Do you have a place we can work on it..house garage or driveway?
You already have everything needed to complete this..radiator,new rad cap, trans cooler, hoses,fluids? I'm not worried about tools if don't have those.. I've got that covered.
 
The last SoCal meet I did went great if you guys are down for another. Im thinking second week in Sept. Nothing is set in stone and I'd like to have a trail scheduled in their as well. Probably do it on a Sat. Any ideas on where to go? Corral Canyon and Rodriguez Canyon and the two I have been recommended. Would love to hear more input from you guys if any of you are interested. I will be making a follow up thread to the last meet and great in the T4R announcement section as soon as I have a general idea of what we all would like to do.

I have run Corral Canyon a few times its a very scenic trail with lots of rocks! would be down for another soon!
