Interesting noise. Is it SAI?

I was having a terrible morning and running a little late for work, so when I pulled out on the 35mph road out of my neighborhood I pretty much floored it. After the engine revved past 3500 rpms, I heard repeated "psh.....psh....psh" like a blow-off valve at low psi, until it shifted into 2nd. I'm not concerned about it, but I'm just curious what it was? My previous car had a secondary air injection system that would blow extra air through the engine to help warm up the catalytic converter on a cold start. Since the truck had yet to fully warm-up, I'm guessing it's something along those lines?

The Air Injection Pump is only on for 30-60sec after the 4runner has started, and it produces a solid/steady stream of air, that is barley audible, unless you are standing outside of the vehicle. It is safe to say it isn't the Air Injection System.

Are you sure the noise wasn't from traction control system? It will make a quick and loud clicking sound when the Traction or VSC kicks in. Flooring it when going into a tight turn would be likely to make you lose traction, especially with the sh*tty stock tires.

Wasn't traction control, since I've heard that click before and I didn't accelerate heavily until I was going straight. The noise definitely sounded like compressed air being released, almost like when a soda fountain is making the psh sounds when you're pouring a drink. It fit the 30-60sec window, but ambient temp was still like 65. My thought was that it was some sort of blow-off for the SAI system since at that rpm/throttle the additional airflow of the SAI is not needed and could potentially cause air/fuel ratio to lean out a bit (but not likely enough to actually cause problems).
