Introduction and comments on the 2010 TE

I have a Jet Sled tote sled I use for ice fishing. That fits in the back of the 4r with the 60% portion of the seat down. That is usually what I haul deer out of the woods with, back into the ditch, and then drag the sled in. Sleds are water tight so the blood doesn't leak out onto interior. Enjoy!

Good call, I'm going to look into the sled. I know that hoisting one on top is inevitably going to lead to a hoof or horn to the paint, especially if it's after a long day and after dark. Guess I will just have to kill really little ones:deadhorse:

Why not just a hitch mounted carrier? That's what everyone uses in my neck of the woods.

You know, I was thinking of that except the lot at work is pretty narrow and I navigate some other lots around here that make me think I would eventually get boxed in by someone that doesn't realize they are doing it or I would end up backing into something.
Are they easy to put on and off for the day? I find that even the kids' car seats more often than not I don't want to be bothered taking in and out because it ends up being 20-30 minutes by the time I get them back in b/c you want to be sure they are extremely tight and when you take them out and there is old snack dust and schmutz on them you inevitably clean them and all that.

It's really an ideal solution because deer around here are always full of horrifying numbers of ticks (just in the ears there can be dozens or hundreds). And if I get lucky and tag a bear there is no way I'm going to be able to get it into the truck.

Do you use one? Does anyone who has one find that it's easy to forget it's there and back into something or does the camera give you a full view of it?
edit- found this folding version, might be a good compromise. They can't be too much harder than a trailer to hitch/unhitch, right?

I've used a hitch carrier. You won't forget it's there and the camera lets you see it anyway. It's easy to put in and out of the receiver.

The hitch carrier may also get you hung up crossing a washout, then there is the spray from the tires and exhaust fumes. We all know how much dust/dirt/snow/slush collect back there... my taxidermist probably wouldn't even want to work on the piece by the time I got to his studio. JMO
Deer up here don't have ticks though, or at least not in the #'s you guys have. Might be something to think about.

Just kidding, I was just getting rid of some old houseplants.

So the cargo gate just pops in and locks with a pin, 2 minutes to get it on and take it off?

That seems like the move, plus useful for hauling other stuff and allows for at least 2 deer.
