Got some new snow today, heading out tomorrow morning to play...

And we are dry as bone down here... needing the wet stuff and white stuff so so bad! Wish we had some pow to go play in. Can’t wait for the pics!

Trip got postponed until today. Still haven't gone through all of them in Lightroom but I didn't take a lot and the ones I did just don't look all that great. May have had something to do with the temperature today...

How is your range over 500 KM? After a fill, I never see better than 460 KM anymore. Did it go up after you switched to your snow tires?

Not really too sure to be honest. I stopped paying attention after I put the skid plates on. It probably is lower with the MTRs than with the Nokians because of the weight difference though. I even filled up in Calgary and took that pic in Cochrane, so it was probably around 530 to start.

Ok, so finally got around to sorting through the pics. I was using two different cameras and one is still new enough that I haven't figured out all the settings yet so some of the pics came out....not as expected. They needed a little post-processing in Lightroom, which I just don't have the patience for so they don't look too great.

It was pretty cold out and I got a bit of a surprise in the morning.

Any noise from the TC UCAs? What kind of caster number did they get on the alignment?

One of my LR ball joints is toast, and the latest generation spec ride bushings are noisy when they flex, below freezing. Think I might bite the bullet and go with TC UCAs.

My caster with the LR UCAs was just below 4. After the TCs went in it was at around 3.5 I think but we got it up to 4.3 finally. At one point we had it at 5.5 on one side by accident but pulled it back. This was all by adjusting the lower arms.

No noise at all. These arms are quiet and smooth so far. They seem to articulate a lot easier than the LR arms, but maybe that's just my imagination. Just tell yourself that if you get the TC UCAs it'll be one less thing you need to buy when you put in the TC long travel kit...

I am assuming you had the LR ball joint at the "D" setting?

Also, if you don't mind, could you please report back after the winter and let us know how the uni-balls are holding up to all the road salt?

Look at the trend you've started. We're all going to jump ship because of you, lol.

I can't remember the exact setting on the LRs but it would've been the furthest forward to minimize rubbing on the body mounts.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the uniballs this winter especially with the amount of crap they put on the roads around here. Maybe I should ask TC for a commission on their 4Runner arm sales...

Once the weather warms up I'm going to pull both signal housings back out, clean them up, then run a bead of silicone around the lenses before I put them back in. It'll mean a little more work next time I have to change them, but it should also mean I won't have to change them quite as often. And it's already a pain to replace them - remove the side plates from the bumper, unscrew the housings from the bumper, pop the lens cover off, replace bulbs, then put it all back together - so adding one more thing won't make that much difference.

The standard ShrockWorks bumpers have the same issues, too. [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] had the amazing idea to use the oval trailer LED signals when he ordered mine. I haven't had any issues yet!

^^^ best factory shrockworks mod to date. That's how mine is getting ordered. Also helps that the wife likes the look better with the oval lights.

The Shrockworks bumper has different shaped lighting cutouts than my ARB bumper (you won't find anything from Shrockworks on my truck until they cut down their lead time significantly). I'm also hesitant to use LED exterior lighting because it doesn't heat up enough to melt snow - yes I've had ice build-up all over the front of my truck in winter except for over the lights that were on while driving. Besides, a tube of silicone sealant is only a couple bucks.

Got my bumper do e the same way as limamikes. So far so good. Good thing about these lights you can go to any napa auto parts store and pick these up. Got a lot of compliments for the led light being clear when not on and pretty bright when they are on. Thumbs up to [MENTION=68685]Ducmonsta[/MENTION] & Limamike for coming up with this and posting it.
