I gather you've been running your NorthStar battery for the better part of a year now... just curious to know if you're still happy with your choice. I've seen some recommendations for deep cycle batteries in a group 31 size... was that ever a consideration or are you quite content with the 24F?

Yup, no regrets at all. The only time I had a problem was when I accidentally left my HID off road lights on all night and it killed the battery. Boosted it and let it charge and haven't had any issues since, including in minus stupid temps.

Thanks!!.. that's good to know as I close in on making a decision on a battery upgrade. I'd prefer to keep the stock size for the battery tray and not bother with bending the cables to fit a larger battery if a group 24F deep cycle like your NorthStar will be more than sufficient.

I hate you so much right now. Even when it warms up we'll have at least another month of wet and mud everywhere afterwards.

The mud season. Ours was February this year, and it was pretty miserable, but March has been fantastic.

Unfortunately, I'll be stuck in Florida for the next couple of weeks, then Moab will be over run when I get back (Easter Jeep Traffic Jam). Fortunately there's still tons of great trails that are off the EJS radar. Those guys don't like travelling too far from an auto parts store, or a trailer.

Didn't you say you were going to make a Moab trip this year?

Yup, looking like the end of May. Hoping the rear bumper shows up soon so I can get it installed in time.

The tire in the picture has to be brand new, not sure about the rest. He's had way too much trail time on those tires for them all to look that good.

Yup, those are new - you can still see the tire pubes. New shoes on all four corners.

Nope, same size. Cut tread blocks from body mount, uneven wear from too much camber on a bad alignment, more uneven wear from driving 200+ km home with the toe way out.
