Great pics! I really don't care if I never see another snowflake though. This past winter just about did me in. It was way too cold for way too long with way too much snow. Pretty sure WV was colder than the Antarctic.

Thanks! I'm completely done with winter now. There were some bare spots out there so I got to do a little rock crawling but not much. At this point I'm sick of winter wheeling and ready for some technical stuff.

Ok, so ignore that last post. Saw a heavy snowfall warning for the mountains today and couldn't resist. Result of the day was a broken winch line for the Tacoma (thankfully synthetic and not steel) and a blown alignment for me.

So I shouldn't mention that the place where those pics were taken is only a half hour drive from Calgary? I'm headed back there after work with a couple buddies to do a short trail run then should be home before it even gets too dark

I will be crossing into your neck of the woods through Chief Mountain POE and was looking for suggestions of a few places relatively close to hit a trail or two while up in what really looks like God's Country based on your pictures. thanks

I will be crossing into your neck of the woods through Chief Mountain POE and was looking for suggestions of a few places relatively close to hit a trail or two while up in what really looks like God's Country based on your pictures. thanks

Not entirely sure where exactly that'd be. I'm guessing it's in the Waterton area, so the closest trails would be around Crowsnest. Definitely not an area to go off road alone, especially any time between now and July. Whipsaw would be a pretty long ways from there - maybe 10 hours or so - and you've got a small window when that trail doesn't have tons of snow in July and August.

Not a lot going on lately. Still waiting for my CBI bumper to show up so I can install it and the new rear springs. I also have an LCA cam bolt seized in the bushing so my caster can't be adjusted very high which means no wheeling unless I want to chew up my tires.

Anyhow, picked up one of the Nikon holy trinity lenses last week and finally got to play with it a little today. Pretty happy with it so far. They're the turn signal/DRL lights. I figure if I put them in the ARB housings they won't get hot enough to melt them.

I've thought about it but I don't think they'd work well in the winter. When it goes down to -35C you need the heat of halogens to keep the lenses from icing over.

LOL...only asked as I looked at that as an option since I have these same bulbs lying around (VLEDs) and went with the full enclosed LED instead. Definitely interested to see them in action.
