Besides turning BT ON on the Iphone, is there something else that i need to do to initiate transfer on the Iphone??
Previously with my Sanyo flip phone, i do what the above link does on the Prius NAVI. BUT, i also need to initiate the transfer on my Sanyo phone to start transmitting.

I have a 2011 TE and an iPhone 4s from AT&T and have problems with the music piece staying connected reliably.
I've noticed enough strangeness with connecting, syncing and just normal interaction that says there is something broken in iOS 5 compared to 4.
I test phones as a side job and have had rock solid performance from iOS 4 and many other phones.

I don't have a 4R but in my VW I noticed that I do the following:
Settings > General > Bluetooth
Then under devices pick the profile
Then your should see
Forget this device
Sync Contacts
Phone Favorites
Phone Recents
Other Groups
I have mine set to Sync Contacts - ON
Phone Favorites - ON (this may not be avail in the 4R)
Phone Recents - ON (this may not be avail in the 4R)
I can also specify which of my groups on the phone to sync to the car
I have noticed some flakiness to the system in the VW since 5.0 was released. I know that the phone is using BT 4.0 and I wonder if that is part of the problem.

That's odd...i do NOT have anything other than "Forget this device"...nothing else below it. No other option. How odd?!!
That's not true the 4 runner transfers contacts just fine I did it on mine with both of our phones no problem.

Unfortunately that button was frozen and wouldn't respond (seems to be a bug on the phone, lots of posts on an iphone forum about it). Since it wouldn't turn off, had to re-set phone. All worked out, now handsfree and loving it
Just checked my month old iPhone 4S and thankfully the TTY button is in the OFF position. :thumb3:
