Ironman 4x4 or ARB awning?

So my wife gave up and told me to order my birthday/xmas present myself.

So I'm going back and forth between an ARB or Ironman 4x4 awning.

* ARB Awning TOURING 2500MM(8.2FT) ARB4401A
(8.2 foot X 8.2ft) (98" square).
OR
* Ironman Instant Awning with Lights! IAwning001L
84" Long (on the vehicle) x 98" Wide.

I like the fact that the Ironman has lights built in, which may be beneficial, especially if they can be controlled from the awning (as oposed to inside the cab). If I get the room enclosure, the lights again may be a plus.

But I've not been able to find a whole lot of info on how it works, and what the long term thought is on the Ironman.

Even though you did not ask me, you jerk! I have the ironman because of the lights and the black cover. Posted a few pics of it too.

Otherwise I saw no difference between the two.

Even though I don’t have either. I was going to add what [MENTION=6163]phillyd2[/MENTION] said about the cover, I like the black over the grey. If price/accessories/ build quality are similar. You get a black cover, lights, and a shorter length on truck (which I think would look better, but didn’t dig up any photos). Either will be a great gift! (good choice)

Not quite as clean on the lights as I had hoped, but it looks like it's not that hard to add a delphi connector and run the power from the roof.

Black cover on black truck is a plus... sooooo..... now lets see if Toyota of Dallas (TRDParts4u) has a good deal on them.

Sub'd. I've been holding an ironman awning in my cart with Endless Horizon's along with some other items but haven't pulled the trigger just yet. Let us know what you find in terms of deals!

Looking at that photo, the lights wouldn't be the decision maker from my perspective. Portable LED's are plentiful, don't require a "hot" plug into your truck and you could place them where you want/need.

Pick the one with the best durability, functionality, warranty, customer service and price. My .02.

The light wire is plenty long to reach the other side of the engine bay and comes with a connector as well as alligator clips for the battery. I have a blue power port to put next to my second battery for it but just have not installed it yet.

Goof Off works great to remove the green logo from the cover. One issue is the metal zipper pulls smack against the truck so mine are still wrapped with painters tape but need to find a better solution.
