Absolutely NOT! You can have a great time off roading with the better ground clearance. I had a supercharged Taco PreRunner. It had everything a 4WD had without 4WD. I could get through some trails that other 4WD vehicles could not with just a rear locker.

Definitely not man. Check out my ride along with Crazydubman. Its definitely not poser. In fact I'l have a schrockworks bumper on by Christmas.
no man you wouldn't be a poser, you don't need a 4x4 too offroad

OP said NOTHING about off roading.
In theory.....But last time I checked it snows alot in my city 4x4 certainly helps me get out of snow banks and up the big hills here. :cheers:

I say go for it. I'd honestly leave the front bumper out of the equation for a bit. Get the truck up and some bigger tires and I think you will be very happy. I do have 4WD and a spacer lift, and bigger tires, and yes, mostly drive around town. Am I a poser, sure whatever. I do get to go play in the desert I just don't have the time with the business. When I do finally get the time to get out there, I plan on seeing what the current set-up does. If I love blasting through the desert, then I will upgrade the suspension.

I agree that he should do what he wants with his rig. But this argument is just stupid. It doesnt prove anything or even present a logical point. There is a medium position other than just poser and hardcore crawler, its called regular offroader. And that is where most of the lifted 4runners on this site are at. Please think things through in the future.

They say that 90% of 4x4's don't get used off-road. There is nothing poser of having a lifted 2wd. I camp and hike a lot and for years all I had was a 2wd lifted truck. It helped with the dirt roads and looked damn nice. Here are the only reasons you should not lift your truck:
1. You can't afford it
2. If it wont suit your needs/ usage better.
The heck with anyone that says it is "Poser" since majority of people with lifted trucks and 4x4's don't even use it, making them more of a Poser. Ultimately it is your truck and you need to do what you like and will make you happy with it.
