Is K & N still the air filter to get?

For engine air filter I always rock OEM / Denso equivalent.

Personally I am not a fan of K&N at all for engine air filters. One feel too porous to provide proper filtration in high dust or fine dust environments when off-road / deserts. Two, the main reason I stopped using them is because its possible to damage during cleaning and maintenance. The cost of time and chemicals cost me more than just using a throw away OEM filter.

For cabin air filter... this has been my go-to after trying a few options.

Same. He convinced me to buy a Wix filter. The rest of his videos are absolute gold.

When was it ever the one to get? K&N has been garbage ever since I can remember. K&N got its reputation from spending more money on advertisements and sponsorships than anybody else in the business. They sure didn't earn it from making a superior product.

i just hit up my local Autozone and grabbed STP filters for air and cabin; anyone have anything to say about those? lol

I wonder how well a genuine Toyota filter compares to the Wix, etc... The local dealer sells them for around $28. My new-to-me 2010 4runner has a filthy K&N... looks like I'll be replacing it instead of cleaning it.
