Wood grain in the limited is different, what he has is a stick on wood kit that is about 1/16th of an inch thick. It may throw everything off if you are using factory mounting holes.

Just ordered mine today. Can't wait to get them. I have had a three different 4Runners and this one, albeit the oldest, sucks when it comes to the cup holders.

I didn't realize that was an aftermarket kit. The one I installed went into a 98 limited. It fit really good. I can't say one way or the other how fitment would be on an aftermarket wood kit. To the guy who originally posted the pic of the aftermarket kit, your more than welcome to order one and if it doesn't fit then ship it back for a full refund. If it does fit, I would love some pics of it installed so others who have the wood kit will know.

It would just shift it up a 16th which should be pretty easy to correct for if the model is setup nicely. I have it in my truck, I will measure it with my calipers when I get home and let ya know exactly how thick it is.

So I heard back from the guy who has the 1st prototype. There is good news and bad news. The good news is that it easily clears the shifter and allows full movement of the seat. It also clears the dash. The bad news is that a large cup installed DOES hit the dash up above the cup holder. I did not realize that the dash hung so far forward higher up. If I move the cup holder forward to clear the dash, I then run into the shifter when in 4LO. So..... I now have to do a full redesign. The phone holder is actually the part that will hit the shifter if I move the cup holder forward. I will move the phone holder back towards the dash about a 1/2". I will then move the pen holder to the back side of the cup holder. That will allow me to move the cupholder forward about 1/2" to clear a large cup from hitting the dash AND it will still allow for full movement of the seat and clearance on the shifter. I now know what I need to do I just need to do it. I will continue to work on the new design today and tomorrow with hopes of having the next prototype ready to go in the next couple days. here is what I need from you guys. I need another manual bezel. I shipped the first one I borrowed back so the guy could test fit the cupholder. I feel bad borrowing the same one over and over again. Anyone willing to loan me the black bezel that goes around the shifters off their manual 3rd gen? You get a free cup holder out of it. Here are the pics the guy sent me this morning so you guys can see what I'm dealing with.

I received my dual cup holder a couple weeks back and LOVE it. So much easier managing large cups from fast food joints. All around GREAT deal.

Love my cup holder. Great improvement over the stock dash cup holder. Wife is happy with it too.

So I made another attempt at the single cup holder for the manual tranny. I had to make a ton of changes to get it to clear the dash AND 4WD shifter in 4Lo. It's REALLY close to perfect. I got some good feedback today from the guy I sent it to. I have now made the needed changes and will be printing the final version (I hope) tomorrow morning.

"Party's for a manual swap"? I'm pretty sure that the phone if it's a wide one and fills the entire 3.25" space will not allow the shifter to go into 4LO. The cup itself doesn't prevent it and an iphone which is much narrower should not prevent it. If you have an Iphone6 plus then you will probably need to leave the phone in your pocket when your out wheelin in 4Lo. I figured what percent of your 4Runner's life is it in 4LO. Probably less than 1% of the time. The other option is to remove the phone holder which makes no sense when it only interferes less than 1% of the time. Might as well get some use out of it the 99%+ of the time your driving not in 4Lo.

Alright, so I just wrapped up a good sized batch of the manual trans single cup holders. I clearance the cell phone slot to allow for full movement of the shifter and it will still hold most phones in the slot while in 4LO. It's just those wide phones that may interfere. Sorry, but no double for the manual trans guys. there is just no space to put a double on that console, so the single is the only option I will be releasing for the manual trans guys.
