Isolating Fog Light portion of Left Column Stalk

Can anyone give me a hand with this? I'm making my own harness and this is how I have it set up.
87- Power to fog lights, fog light negatives wired together then grounded
86- Ground
30- Power from battery
85- Wired to black/red from fog light stalk

When I flip the switch I hear no click from the relay. I know I'm getting power from the battery because it sparks.

If you cut the two wires loose from the fog light switch (black/red and green/black) you need to supply 12V to the green/black wire (on the other side of the fog light switch).

I just cut the red/black. But now that I think about it when I first got it I disabled the DRLs and I think the method I did was by cutting a green/black wire in the footwell area. Would that be the problem?

Also I'm connecting the new wire to the black/red wire on the switch side.

Correction: the wire I cut above the gas pedal was yellow/black

My harness runs a power lead to the switch from #30. As Ozarks said, you need 12v to the switch, in your case the green/black. This is need to trigger the relay.

Okay so just disconnect the wire from the battery and run it to the green/black instead?

I did all my connections under the steering column, so the connector that attaches to the stalk has the wires you need. You already tapped into the blk/red, now you need to tape into the grn/blk to power the switch.

Your circuit should not be affected by any other mods since it is now isolated...

No, you still need battery power to #30, you just to run power to the green/black, either from #30 or another source, but leave power to #30 as this is also supplying the lights with power.

Unfortunately it's not a nice light bar like yours, just some Hellas I bought from a friend for $20. Definitely helps with back road driving at night though.
