It's over. I'm done. Worst possible thing has happened.

Says it might stain, so you could put something down over your carpets and seats before spraying. Worth a shot, and you wouldn't have to deal with a toxic bug bomb.

Never heard of that before--that's good info! I would definitely be willing to try that before the bug bomb.

You might just try parking it in the sun. If it gets to 140 deg in there it's likely to kill the spiders (at least I'd think it would kill about anything). That's about as close to nuking it as you probably need to get.

Since you're the second to suggest that as a possible solution, and since it's the easiest of all the options, I think I'll try that first, maybe throw some dryer sheets in for good measure. At least the fact that my 4runner is black will be helping me out in this particular situation.

And if anyone is wondering how the spider initially got into my truck, I'm thinking the only way it could have happened was over the weekend while I was doing some night wheeling with my windows down. I remember running straight through a couple of spider webs going across the trail, and thinking "damn it's a good thing I'm in a vehicle, it would suck to accidentally walk through that." Man I hate spiders.

I never knew this board consisted of so many people with arachnophobia. I have swallowed spiders, been bitten by brown recluses and wolf spiders. Not fun by any stretch of the imagination but still.

Do they taste like chicken?

Kraze, you would never make it as a mountain biker. If you're the first one on the trail for the day, you go through a web about every tenth of a mile.

I liked the post even if it sounded like a high school cheerleader wrote it.

Unless you have other bugs in your vehicle for him to eat he probably won't last long. You will find him next time you remove an interior panel! MUHAHAHA...

Funny you mentioned that, when I would go on searches up on mt hood I would be the guy always finding a stick and constantly waving the dam thing to catch all the webs. nothing worst then being the first on the trail!!

Spiders are honestly the only thing that I have a problem with. No e-brag but, I've caught wild snakes, trapped scorpions, been skydiving multiple times, bungee jumped a couple times, swam with the sharks (just this weekend actually), and can give a mean public speech with no fear at all; but if I see a spider, I go into fight or flight mode and immediately have to extinguish the life from the pest... or run like crazy while flailing my arms like a mental patient that's just looked at a Jackson Pollock painting, whichever is more convenient at the time.

I've actually thought about getting into mountain biking recently. I think I could still do it, I'd just have to find someone like you to send out on the trails first :thumb:

Lmao. That is definitely something I would do.

The Brazilian Wandering spider is known to be highly territorial, often jumping onto mammals, even humans, and biting them. They inject venom in 9/10 bites and are known to hide in cars.

But I bet you have a kick-ass plan for the zombie apocalypse right? Bwahaha

Seriously though, go to the store and buy some mothballs. Scatter them all over the seats and floor-boards, leave the doors open for a few hours, and any bugs in there will run far away. Just make sure to pick them up afterwards because they are toxic. If you don't have kids or pets, there's no harm in leaving a few under the seats to deter any future creepy crawlers from entering. Plus there's not gonna be a lingering smell if you take them out!

A former neighbor of mine had done some time in the soft clink, seen all sorts of mean SOBs, but was terrified of spiders. So terrified he literally set his truck on fire and rolled it into a field (the truck was 20 years old at the time) when he saw two banana spiders in it.

Growing up with rattlesnakes and cottonmouths, I try and avoid snakes when possible.

OH! I TOTALLY GET THAT!! I grew up in an area where we had wolf spiders that would get into the cars and hide out and wait till the most inopportune times to cruise around. NOT GOOD!

I'm cool with spiders as long as the keep their place, when they are hiding out and laying in wait. That's when I get the hammer! Or any other smashing device!

KILL! KILL!! KILL!!!

I like your confidence, but the bolded part is where you're wrong. ANY spider living in my 4runner is a dangerous spider, as I'm likely to wreck it while I frantically swat at the bastard if I suddenly feel it crawling on me.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I recently moved to Florida form Arizona. I've messed with Tranchalas Wolf spiders.... I've been attacked by Wolf spiders. I move to Tallahassee and find a Banana Spider in the back yard the size of my hand(I have big hands) I freak out and can't even go in the back yard. So I make my 16 year old go out and kill it for me.... I'm not ashamed. Look at the wiki.
