I love how this thread has become a respository for all the nasty shit we hope to never find in our trucks.
I humbly submit this little gem for your consideration:
( Spoken in the voice of Rod Serling )
Imagine if you will — traveling alone on a dark deserted highway. The constant pitter-patter of rain against the window plays gently in the back of your mind, as the hours of boredom slowly tick by.
Gradually you become aware of the creepy feeling that someone is watching you — "but how" you think? You are alone in the middle of nowhere! "Impossible" you say to yourself...
Yet still, this feeling of being watched is unshakable.
You laugh out loud and take a sip of that now cold gas station coffee you bought 250 miles back. “Pay attention” you say to yourself, as you believe that you are just tired and need some rest.
You notice the rain is starting to come down harder now as you navigate your way home through mile after empty mile. You turn on the radio to help drown out that incessant noise of the worsening storm — but only the eerie hum of static greets your ears. It dawns on you just how far away from civilization you truly are. No radio stations are strong enough reach you this far out. Uncharacteristically, you start to sweat.
It’s at this exact moment that you hear it...
Despite the rhythmic pounding of rain on your truck, an ominous clicking noise can be heard during a brief lull in the storm.
“WTF is that?!?" you think to yourself!
The feeling of being watched is so strong now -- you are
convinced there is someone stowed away in your truck. The hair on the back of your neck stands on-end as you nervously reach up to turn on the overhead light.
With that one little click -- your nightmare becomes reality. YOU ARE NOT ALONE
As the feeble light from your overhead spreads across the back of the truck — in the rearview mirror you see it!
It's climbing up the back of your seat and its hungry. The clicking noise you heard is the massive pincher snapping furiously at you as it tries desperately to get a chunk of your ear...
