Ant, out of curiosity, which holster do you have? I've been thinking about picking up another for my M&P 357C. The full stainless Kimber needed the deluxe but I've been considering one of the smaller Qwikclip holsters for the M&P.
Bofa,
for my G27 and SW full sized 1911, I just have the basic SuperTuck Deluxe. No add-ons, just the basic platform. Like I said, I don't carry the 1911 much in this holster, but I was pretty surprised how comfortable and concealable even a large frame .45 can be with this holster. I also have a MicroClip for my SW .380 bodyguard. It only has the one clip, and I wish it had the two. Although its not bad, the two clips help to keep it in place a little better. 95% of the time, I am carrying my G27. I also bought an IWB mag carrier for my spare .45 mag. Again, basic setup, no add-ons. It works really well for what I need. Having both types of holsters, I would vote for the SuperTuck or other kinds they have that have the two clips. The one clip allows the gun to move a little more than I would like if I am walking a lot, or have to run. The two clips ensures it will stay in place. Call me stupid, but just for sh!ts and giggles, I went for a two mile run with my SuperTuck and it stayed right where it should the entire time.
I normally do not endorse products very much, but I am completely sold on this company. I tried a ton of other holsters before finding them, and know many co-workers in my line of work that I turned on to this company and they swear by them.
For me, i have a cheap nylon IWB holster (no strap) for my Sig P239. Thin. Comfy. Easy to put on and take off.
I don't care about re-holstering...not planning to if i had to fire my weapon. Call 911 (and ambulance if needed). Release magazine and chambered round. Pull slide back. Call my lawyer (after calling for 911). Take holster out of my side. Put gun with slide back in my holster and lay on ground. Wait for police.
Why would you leave yourself disarmed until the police arrive?

Assuming that I had put down assailant(s). I don't want any confusion when the police arrives. Police could be some trigger happy kid.

Finally, I would not suggest unloading your gun before police arrive. Bad guys often work in teams, and there may be more than the one you just disarmed. Once you see the police lights and cruisers pulling up to where you are, that would be a good time to place your gun on the ground and step away. That's my 2 cents, lets get back to holster talk!
