The 3-ton jack stands will be more than enough for your 4Runner... 6000-lb capacity each! I've had four Craftsman Professional 3-ton stands for years and have had many large vehicles up on them.

Unless the 6 tons are the same price as the 3 tons.

I have (6) 3 tons jack stands.

I first started w/ (2) 3 tons.

Later bought (4) 3 tons that match and are taller.

Thanks guys, and thanks for the photos of our Titanium rides. Needed some new desktops after reloading windows.

I was just asking this question myself. I had to toss my old jackstands and I need new ones now, my spidertrax should be in today and I want to put them on today.
Thanks Ran! and others!

I agree with KC that the overall height is a key factor. With the lift and the bigger tires I need to get taller jack stands and they wound up being heavier duty / 6 ton. My 3 ton worked great but they only went up to about 16" or so.

I was at Harber Frieght, 3 ton, $30 is good to 16', 6 ton, $45. is 15-24". I guess we want the 24" clearance. 20% off not included.

Harbor Freight is where I got my 6 ton also, I think I paid $39. I love Harbor Freight for these types of purchases! I also bought the larger floor jack too. After I did the my lift, I couldn't get the runner up high enough to get the tires back on!!!!

I have the 20" floor jack and somtimes I put a small section of 2x4 on the lifting surface if I need to lift all the way to the frame rails.

Just bought a set of Craftsman 3 1/4 ton stands at Sears. They were 19.99 if you joined the craftsman club or whatever their free club card thing is. Thought they were a pretty good deal.

I use 2 ton stands and have had no issues. I figure the weight of the 4Runner is 4,700 pounds so the most one stand would every be holding is like MAYBE 3,500 pounds and they're rated for 4,000. I would always use 2 jack stands up front, maybe just 1 in the back.
