Jam assist for windows with tint & window shades

Just installed my Weathertech window shades. They were a tight fit and now when I do the auto-up function to close them, they detect something in the tracks and they re-open automatically.

Will this go away as they seat or should I rip them out. Too bad, they look really good too.

Thoughts?

Don't pull them off yet!

Call Weathertech and they can tell you a sequence of how it will over-ride that function and if I am not mistaken it will learn that it needs to close...IIRC !

I had those once. I had the same issue sporadically until one night driving through southern Missouri with the windows down one of the rear ones just decided it wanted to be on it's own and flew away. I said "Good riddance, you were nothing but trouble anyway." I promptly ordered good old Ventshade stick ons and had no problems. As a matter of fact I just ordered a set for my new 4Runner this morning. $49 from Amazon.
Seriously another thing I did not like about the In Channel is cleaning the window outside. Can't get a hand or rag up there.

Oddly enough I am at the service dept with my wife's RAV and asked the service manager about the 10 second hold. He said it may work initially, but as soon as you shut the truck off, it wil reset and it will do it again.

But I did just call Weathertech and they sent me this:

It will learn and start working as normal after a couple of days. At least mine did.

Mine did it during the initial install. I eased them up without using the auto close and left them overnight to seat. No problems with the auto close since then. But I'm with 1engineer. I'm afraid to open my rear windows for fear the visors will fall off. Tape ons are in my future plans.

Ok,
So this is from Weathertech that worked (so far):

With the window up, Press and hold down the button for 5 seconds,,slowly bring the window up (non-auto-up mode). Then press and hold down the button for 3 seconds. Repeat if necessary. Do this for each window.

I'll let you guys know if it reverses or something.

What I was telling tou above was I did that and it worked sometimes and sometimes not. The rears became loose and eventually one blew out. Good luck.
