Iphone case update
So I'm im pretty thrilled with how this turned out. I uploaded and ordered the case on Sunday night. it finished printing and was shipped yesterday, and arrived at my door today!
The fit for the key internals is PERFECT. It's snug and allows for the iPhone to still sit perfectly on top. The bump out on the bottom is really not that bad at all. I've carried it around for a day and haven't been phased by it at all. It also feels pretty good holding it.
I got the case made out of polyamide because it was cheaper for the first run. It has a slightly cheap feel to it (slightly rough texture/somewhat flexible). I went with this because it was ~30 vs ~60 for an ABS version. I may get another one made out of ABS soon though as I'm loving it so far.
The key works perfectly tucked in behind the phone too, I noticed no loss of range or speed of recognition by my truck. It's the same as having it tucked into your pocket!

That is freaking ingenious! Any reason why you didn't design it with the module flipped the other way so you can access the 3 transmitter buttons too? I wonder if you can have it printed precise enough so you can just transfer the OE rubber button cover/presser thing over to the phone case (for lack of a better term, lol).

I am in no way a good enough CAD designer to pull that off haha. It would be cool, but I almost never use the buttons as they are now so I wound't get much use out of it most likely.
This is true, I've never lost my phone yet thought so fingers crossed!
This is true, my plan for this is just to keep the shell of the key in the glove compartment or center console. That way if I need to give the key to someone (dealership / valet) I can just take the phone out of it's case, pop out the internals, and snap them back into the original casing.

I don't let the valet people park my truck. I tell them I'll pay for valet and I will park it myself. Keys never exchange hands. Another reason is "Ferris Bueller's day off".

it has worked even better then expected. There have been no problems at all with the truck recognizing the key in the case. The only times I have had to take the phone out to access the key is to show people who are curious about why my phone case has a "weird bump on the back".
The polyamide has proved to be surprisingly durable and is actually very flexible and resilient.
I have noticed that I can press the bottoms (a button, not sure which), by pressing down on my phone overtop of where the remote is. It's difficult to do so it hasn't happened by accident. It also could be remedied by adding a spacer between the circuit board and phone that allows the buttons to not contact the phone.
I may refine the design in a few weeks and print out an ABS version.

Haven't updated my build in a while so I figured I'd throw up the lasted developments!
I finally got around to armoring up! I took advantage of the Budbuilt free shipping and picked up a full set of skids and sliders. I actually ordered everything before the free shipping took effect, but I called Bud and he let me get the discount retroactively - great service!
The powder coated sliders got here about two weeks ago and I'm still waiting on the skids. They said they are missing the crossmember so whenever they get those made they'll ship them out.
I also ordered the RCI stock bumper skid plate (which is cut out of aluminum - I wasn't expecting that) - that got here yesterday and looks awesome. I'll probably just hit the Budbuilt and RCI skid with some flat black paint before they go on in a week or two.
The CBI rear is on order as well so I'm expecting to see that around February or so. I still haven't made up my mind about the tire carrier, as of now my order is just for the bumper - no swing out. Once the bumper comes in I'll probably also swap out my Icon rear springs for the new Icon multi-rate rear springs as well.
After that I can't imagine what else I'll have left to do! Maybe a roof top tent, or adding an iPad in the dash eventually...but those are all down the road a good bit. So My build is just about at a close.

At [MENTION=85512]eddiebx[/MENTION]'s request, heres some pictures for comparison. I swapped out the drivers side bulb for the old PIAA pure white extreme bulb so you can see the side by side comparison.
Here they are off, PIAA pure white on the right, and VLED's V3 Triton LED on the left. You can see how the PIAA show blue through the housing even when off.
Also [MENTION=88885]BKRunner[/MENTION] here is a pretty bad picture of the hardwired adapter. You can see the now unused DRL plug on the left. And above that you can see 2 taps, one red (This goes up to power my halos) and two blue ones that are harder to see above the red. The blue taps connect the white wires to the DRL circuit and then down to the yellow push connects in the lower right of the picture, and then up to the V3 control box.

Hijacking your build thread Jango since I don't have one of my own...but I thought this would be a good follow-up to your mod.
I bought the latest V3 led "switchbacks" which allow for a white DRL then turn amber when they sense the blinker being on.
Note, if you want to order these, the reason Jango had to hard wire his is because the polarity is incorrect on the base adapters for our 4Runners. I had VLEDs send me new base adapters with the polarity switched (+/-) and they work like a charm! No hardwiring or splicing needed, completely plug and play!

I headed out to one of the trails on the far back side of the farm this afternoon. There's one down hill section that's been getting really washed out and rutty from all the rain this summer/fall so I wanted to see how it looked. On top of that, we've had several snows over the past few weeks and today and yesterday are in the 60's - creating a massive meltdown. Every trail I went on was submerged in about 2-3 inches of water. The ground is just drenched.
It probably wasn't the besssstttt idea to go on those trails today, but I haven't been out in a while and wanted a challenge.
This section was totally soaked and I bogged down a little. But I just kept my momentum up and those duratracs don't stop!
Sitting at the top of the hill:
Made it to the bottom fine, turned around, and rocked it all the way back up:
Flexing a little in the ruts on the way back up.
This truck never stops amazing me with the terrain it tackles. I drove through medium to heavy muddy sections for about an hour today and it never even slipped!

Hijack away! Thanks for the update and I'm glad they worked out for you. Those V3's are really cool with the automatic amber switching...makes them a little tempting...

Good to hear the RCI fits with the Budbuilt. I was expecting to have to make some slight adjustments to get it to fit.
And wait wait the skids come with instructions?? I'm shocked. I though Bud never included those haha. Good to hear!
