Thank you! I love this color. Now I just need to figure out how to cover up where the stock intake sat on the passenger side of the engine. That opening is not visually pleasing at all lol

You mad lad! you really did it! On behalf of all the 4th gen owners that have drooled over the 3rd gen turbos, god bless. This is by far the best compilation i've seen yet and has very much re-inspired me to boost my 4th gen.

Now that you have finished the build, could you please post the the updated parts list? It seems you were able to remove the turbo timer and even swapped to a different turbo later on in the build so whats the latest variant of the system?

Good deal, please keep us posted. I am going to begin while we wait...my driver side header recently cracked so im going to try to run some LT headers with the off-road y pipe before I add boost.

I have actually begun with the gauges as well and already have a few questions. I might be jumping the gun on your right-up so i'll hang tight. Glad you are still around and working on it!

I picked up an aem fic-6 which I’ve already mapped all the wiring. I just have to install it. As far as injectors I’m still running the stock ones. At this moment it doesn’t seem like I’m going to need upgraded ones unless the duty cycles are high

Are you familiar with the TorqAMP products? Id love to see someone get one onto a 4th gen.
Seems like one of the better E-turbos ive seen on the market to date.

piggyback ecu installed

Hey everybody!
Been a little while since an update. I've been working really hard to get a few things finished up on this. I ended up completely rerouting my charge piping and once its welded I'll have pictures of that. I also just wired in my piggyback ecu which is an aem FIC-6 and it works flawlessly and will allow a wide range of tuning. I will make a full thread on how to install it if others are interested

final touches

Pretty crazy that its now been about 9 months since I started drafting up plans for this project and now the final touches are being done. This project I started with zero literature to go off off for this generation 4runner which made it a big guessing game when it came to certain things.

That being said I have learned a lot of valuable info along the way and appreciate the input I have received from you all. Below you can see the final touches of my project. I still have to touch up paint on the airbox (which is now a storage box) and powder coat the charge pipe.

Yes the stock airbox is now a storage box lol. It's big enough for some small tools and oil if I want to bring some along.

you may need to upgrade to bigger injectors. high duty cycles are not good for injectors.

Already did it! and this unit is only for 6 cylinder engines. they do make an fic-8 which i believe is very similar to this unit but is for 8 cylinder engines. And yes It has a bypass harness that can be plugged in

I did but many people have run them with no issues. that being said I am saving up for a name brand one. Injectors are also on the list just not in the build budget at this moment

selling the set up

set up works but I'm at a point where I do not have the funds to complete this project and I need to do something different. This project has consumed a lot of aspects of my life for the last 9 months and although its almost done I just do not have the money to finish it. If you want the turbo system let me know. with the exception of the fuse panel, and the piggyback ecu everything else would be included. please understand you would need exhaust hangers to hang the turbo section, you would also need it welded to your exhaust up near the y-pipe. the rest with exception of a few things is just labor involved with installing stuff. As much as I don't want to do this I don't really have a choice.
