Congrats jsmarine... all that hard work deserves the recognition! I don't think I've ever said so, but your front bumper is my favorite home brewed bumper of all the home brews I've seen. And then you went and outdid yourself with the rear. Well deserved, and I'm sure it's only going to get better.

Lloyd Floormats

I ordered some custom fit floor mats from Summit, made by Lloyds Mats. Lloyd Mats and Lloyd Mats RUBBER - Lloyd RubberTite Floor Mats - Overview - SummitRacing.com I got the Rubbertite model, they fit perfectly and are very good quality. They even come with the hole for the drives side clip, they also include a new clip too if yours is broken off or missing. I know a lot of guys on here go with the Weathertech or Husky mats, but a friend of mine bought these for his K-5 Blazer and I really liked them. The price isn't bad either!

Rear Springs OME 891

I bought some OME 891 rear coil springs from 4-Ripcord (thanks again Jim!!) and received them today. I will mount them up this weekend. These are to replace my OME 890 coils, nothing wrong with them; they just aren't up to the task of handling the weight with the rear bumper now.



I also ordered some adjustable coilovers from Toytec today, ToyTec Coil Overs (95.5-04 Taco & 96-02 4RUN) - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits the heavy duty 650 lb coils, and I am looking forward to getting them installed soon as well! This was a HUGE purchase for me, as Im sure it is for most! But, the Daystar lift has not held up with my old 210k mile 4runner, especially with the front bumper and winch.

And on that note, I have to give Brian2sun some credit for a reply to a thread I started a year ago shortly after joining this forum when I was asking for tips and advice for installing a 2.5" Daystar lift. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/58795-installing-daystar-lift-any-tips-advice.html Below is Brian2sun's response in that thread:

The best advice I can give about installing the Daystar lift: Don't. If you wheel it even here and there, you won't have much of a lift after a year or so and your saggy coils will amplify every minor imperfection in the road. Do it right the 1st time, get your $$ back if you still can, spend an extra $150-200 and just get some lift coils all the way around.

Not trying to be a bummer, but you can do this once or you can do this twice.

I must say Brian, its been a year and you were right, I will be doing this twice! :bigok:

Lol! Yup, I did it twice too. Welcome to the club, haha. I figured seeing as how nice the work you've done to your truck is in every other aspect, it would only make sense to have sweet suspension on it too. Oh well, live and learn. You'll love the new coilovers I'm sure!

Glad to see you got those coils in. Sounds like you are really getting it done right this time! I'm in the process of getting it done right the second time also, hence getting rid of the 891's. Let us know how those coilover work out.

I haven't got the rear coils in yet, I just got them today from you! But I will install them this weekend. And hopefully, the front coilovers will come sometime next week and I can install them next weekend.

I hope that the 891s are heavy enough for you, bro. You know I went straight to the shorter coils with a stupid high compressions rate. I've been happy, but have lost a lot of flex back there. I didn't go to the 891s because the compression rate is only slightly higher.

P.S. My 881s in front are showing their age. I think I'll be going with the 882s soon. This weekend's big bend trip or the Jamboree will probably be their last hurrah. Also, pretty soon I'll have a roof rack to match yours... then let there be light, and it was good. I examined the Toytec coilovers, but decided to stick with OME this time.

Found the jerry cans used on ebay. I think I paid $95 for them both including shipping.

I wish! For now its only weekend trips. I don't get as much time off from work as I would like, and I need to work to pay for these trips, the 4runner, gas, food beer... the list goes on and on.

I did my front setup twice too....actually...did my rear setup twice too! HA HA! The problem with me, I didn't find this forum until after I had already lifted the truck! I did most of my research on Cardomain, and then accidently stumbled onto YT...and then T4R.ORG!
