So let me get this right.
You're going to say that this guy spending money on an intake that he wanted, and replacing the spark plugs was a waste of $? I'd like to know how you can qualify this.

Just so you all have a little information. I come from the Subaru world where forced induction is king, and spark is every bit as important as anything else. I will also comment that my JDM subaru motor would not run properly on Denso Iridiums, and upon installation of NGK iridiums was a totally different car.

I like how keyboard mechanics who have no idea what they're talking about preach like they know it all. Different spark plug manufacturers use different materials in different quantities. The reason Toyota uses different plugs is beyond me. Im not saying there is a problem with it, but Im also not saying there is a benefit.

To say replacing a plug that has fouled, or deviated from normal operation is a waste of money is retarded.

Im happy the OP feels good about his handywork installing his intake, and new plugs, and Im more happy that his results were satisfactory. I hope you feel the same way when you pay the deal $300 to replace your plugs for you while you sit in the waiting room.

Lets see... Im going to install an aftermarket airbox because I want it louder like a V8, oh wait its too loud! Im going to concoct a series of plugs, ducts, tubes and carbon fiber and see if I can redesign this to be more quiet. Nevermind the fact that the car already has an airbox that has been through more engineering design and development than the typical backyard grease monkey, and show of this abomination, and while Im at it, Ill just forget the warranty and change the sparkplugs prematurely at 8k to fix my happenstance idle issue... (God forbid those automotive engineers know more than a jet mechanic) after all I have to justify spending that wad of cash to make me feel better.

Hey chip4 or CHEAP4 who the h*** you think you are? I do not give a f*** of whatever you have to say...especially since & according to you signature you haven't done any modifications whatsoever to your ride therefore correctly you could be called cheap4, and there may be two reasons for; either you don't have the money or just don't now s*** could be a combination too. Either way you are out of context here (not first hand cause knowledge) to emit an opinion or bash me or anybody else for that matter. For one I got the desire to do it and then the money to accomplished and suits my needs with whatever other mod's I deem important. This forum is mainly for people like me wanting to do modifications on their ride, or you think people here would like to hear and see pictures about plain ass trucks...give me a break. I have more engineering and mechanical knowledge/background that you ever will, and I can tell just by reading your post.

Just to finalize; I do not like to be rude but you just deserved and go to hell!!

Other thing: YOU GET REAL!! The world is for people like me and others here (pioneers) and not for doormats like you!!

On the contrary, Im not against mods -but in your case you dint improve on anything, you seem to be reinventing the wheel, and in the process you may made things worse -you are the perfect example that money certainly dont make smart. You can have all the money to waste on such useless endeavors, "to suit your needs" -would this be the need to be wasteful?, engineering background has you pioneering what? -wasted time and money.

You think forced induction has no bearing in this? Forced induction is the most volatile and problem prone type of engine setup. Where everything matters, AFR, spark, ignition advance....you just havent a clue. Your comments make it so clear that you havent an idea as to what you're talking about.

Subies arent my only knowledge either buddy. Datsuns, Fords, and many others fill my knowledge base. From high compression, to low compression turbo, from single to dual overhead cam...I know the works. I dont claim to be an expert, but I know enough to never have to pay a mechanic for anything.

Oh and nice E-thugging with the "STFU" line. Thats a real 8th grade approach to not having a leg to stand on in a conversation, so you resort to childish behavior.

We all own our own cars. We can and will do whatever pleases us. Just because we do things or have to use a trial and error approach doesnt make a person an idiot. Maybe the person likes a challenge and the sense of accomplishment when its all done. Another thing, dont hate on a person that has or has had the drive to work/save hard to buy the things they desire in life.
