Just Ordered my 2015 LE

Well I finally decided the other day to go ahead and order the 2015 LE (Blizzard Pearl w/ Redwood interior). I seriously considered going with the Trail (or even try to get the TRD Pro) but given what I will be using the car for 99% of the time, and the fact that I will plan to transition it to my fiance in a couple years, the full time 4wd and the smart (and other comforts) were too much to pass up.

With all that being said, they have one preferenced for me that is over in Japan right now but they are not sure how long it will be until it is at their dealership so they are seeing if they can find what I want at another dealer within like 500 miles where they can just go drive to pick it up sooner.

Am I ridiculous to be "not enthused" about some kid going to pick up my 40k+ car and driving it for 500 miles? I am not sure if it is just the extra 500 miles on the car, or the fact that I am sure he will drive it like it hard during the recommended break in period, but something just doesn't sit right with me.

Congrats! I've never seen the redwood in person, but it looks incredibly good in the pics posted. :thumb:
I wouldn't sweat having the dealer send a driver to get it. Most dealers send retired guys/gals in my area to get them anyway if that's really a concern. Enjoy...

I wouldn't worry. Now if it were a new 'Vette C6 or a Challenger Hellcat or a new Ferrari then yes, I would want to do it myself. But a Toyota 4Runner? If it's a kid driving it he probably can't wait to get out of it, especially a Limited...

+1. Lol.

I'm in the same boat, except my dealer tried to locate a unit from my province and the ones adjacent on both sides. No luck, unfortunately.

They found one in Alberta, but said that I would have to pay for freight to bring it over. I said no thanks.

So now I'm waiting anxiously for a build date...

I've never heard of someone driving your new car over, typically they got someone that transports them on a trailer, 500 miles! ! On your new rig!! Forget that, I feel the same way you do.

Yep that seemed a bit excessive to me. I told them I would prefer to just wait for the one directly from Toyota, but they said that could impact the appraisal value on my car for trade. We agreed on a price, so that doesn't seem like my problem.....

Also I would imagine they will have no problem selling my 2011 LE with less than 60k going into winter....

Just got a call from the dealer, I am waiting for the one from Japan. They said they hope it is here by the end of the month, but couldn't guarantee it. Good news, no miles as its coming straight to the dealer. Bad news, another 20 days. Will be worth the wait IMO
