Katzkin Tuscany Leather

Just had Katzkin's tuscany leather installed in my rig and all I can say is....

WOW! It is amazing and much much better then factory leather. I would say that it is on par with the BMW leather in my 5series I traded in for my 4runner. It feels amazing, smells amazing, and just plain is amazing!

Gotta get some pictures when it isn't dark out now...

Easy, easy :-) I did recognize that pictures were required in my original post. It was late and dark!

I will get some pictures today.

I do not have a 3rd row. The leather was bundled with heated seats and ran me around 1300 or so. So I guess about a grand for the leather. The upgraded leather was well worth it. I felt the samples and there was a noticeable quality difference.
 
Here you go! Unfortunately the pictures can't capture the feel and smell... They really do have a feel and smell that I have experienced in very very few leather seats for cars.

Those do look great and great price too!!! I have looked into Katzkin and was quoted $1400 without heat.
 
I would have probably paid that much for them but the dealer was willing to make a, well deal... :-) I think I did get a good price. Normal price for the heated seats, leather, and the upgraded tuscany would have run about 1700-1800 normally i think.

Just drove it with the heaters on and they get nice and toasty!

There seems to be a small amount of cushion that they added under the leather too. The seats seem a bit softer then they did... Not sure if it is my imagination or not.
 
I'm no leather expert, are they supposed to look so wrinkley? Maybe there is "comfort" leather and "sporty" leather :shrug:

They did a good job on the seat heater switch location though :cheers:

Looks like the leather from my 99' Durango, nothing wrong with it. I actually like the 'smooth' style of the factory leather better, but it is all a matter or personal preference.
 
Hmmmm. Interesting, His do seem to fit a bit tighter. I will see how it goes. They don't feel loose. Maybe will try to see if I can smooth them out a bit but not too worried about it.
 
The heater switch location is actually pretty good, wasn't were I had requested but it actually is better then the two switch blanks on the center console. Perfect location to reach down and switch them on while you are driving with your arm on the rest.
 
What about the side airbags? I think my 4th gen has side airbags that come out of the seats. Are they compatible with the bags?
 
Thanks for the reply. I would be a little worried about a misfire of the bags during installation. I guess you disconnect the battery. Not something you want to f-up.
 
Thought I would give a bit of an update. Had the leather seats for a few weeks now and still love them. The leather seats have "settled" very nicely and while they don't lay completely flat they are much less wrinkled then they were right after the install.

I will get some pictures of how they look now for those interested.
