Ever since I brought my vehicle to the dealer for the first regularly scheduled service, I noticed that even though the VIN is correct on the paperwork, it lists the model as a "2014 4Runner SR5 4.0L" instead of a Trail Edition. I ask them to change it every time(which they don't), and the guy always tells me not to worry about it because scanning the VIN is what actually tells them what services to perform, which I don't know if I 100% believe.
Here's my concern; since the KDSS is really the only system that's Trail specific, is it ever included as a service item? The majority of these services are just checking fluid levels and oil changes, but I just want to make sure that they don't overlook items pertaining to KDSS because they think it's a SR5. Granted the tech should be able to tell the model from the wheels, hood scoop, lack of badge etc., but I wouldn't put it past them to just do what they're system tells them.
Has anyone ever seen any routine maintenance items pertaining to the KDSS when taking your truck to the dealer for scheduled maintenance? All I can find from searching is about if you have to re-bleed the whole system.
