Conncecting SWI-JACK

Update:
I ended up sacrificing the wires harness on the vehicle and straight wiring the SWI-JACK. Most functions work, the cd forward advance does not.

I have 2 problems now: 1. the FM reception with the 1 large plug is horrible. I'm looking for the Y adapter to join both of the Diversity cables into the 1 Kenwood receiver. 2. I still have an existing power problem that I thought would go away...the radio and center display unit light tend to go on and off whenever they feel like it. I will disconnect the ACC wire from the harness and go straight to another source for switched +12v.

This has been an incredibly helpful thread, but I am having a couple issues with installing an DNX8120 into my '06 4Runner.

The first complication I had to get over is that I did not have the JBL set-up, but the standard Fujitsu radio. Needless to say, the Metra - or Axxess harness does not work. I wired the proper harness, but it's not working. I'm now into trouble-shooting that part.

I wanted to ask about the SWI-JACK....how did you connect the 3 SWI-JACK wires into the vehicle harness? Did you use some kind of pins soldered to the stranded wire? I wired up 1 resistor in series to the white wire, but the whole set up really looks fragile.

Also, did you connect the Kenwood wire (blue/yellow) on the SWI-JACK to the Remote wire on the radio?

Hey man....glad the info is helping with your install. It's been a while so my memory is a bit hazy...I know that I used the directions that came with the SWI-PAC to the letter. I did do a little soldering to get the resistor connected to the Toy-harness. It was a bit fragile once complete so I shrink-wrapped the entire structure. I'll check my notes and see if I can get you more info.
