Recently, my keyless has been less and less cooperative, with the range reducing and having to mash the buttons to get them to work. Took the remote apart, bent the battery tabs a bit, and closed it back up. Seemed to help a little bit.
Until 2 weeks ago. Keyless flat out stopped working, no reaction from any of the 4 buttons. The remote tests fine through the Energizer IR/RF sensor deal, but no dice with the truck. Also, the red Security light isn't blinking when I lock up anymore. Not sure if it doesn't turn on when locked with the key or not, but it's not turning on at any rate.
Tried to reprogram the remote to no avail. Truck goes into programming mode, but I get no response from it after doing the steps with the remote. I'm assuming that the truck going into programming mode is through the keyless system and not the ECU.
Anyone got any ideas?
