Keyless entry gone haywire

So this morning I'm going to get into my car. I open the handle and the doors go haywire. The sideview mirrors flash and the alarm beeps, as it would when you unlock the door, but it does this maybe 7 times in a row. I can hear inside the door latches locking and unlocking, but the door stays locked. To get into the car I had to open the backdoor and climb in. Also - this has happened a few times last year, I changed the battery in the key fob and it went away so I thought that fixed it. The battery in my current fob is still new, maybe 6 months, so I dont think thats the issue. Also to note - it was 20 degrees outside and I believe last year when this issue happened it was also winter. Anyone have any ideas on a solution?

Not sure, but sometimes my automatic sensor handle keyless things on the Limited won't work if it's extremely cold, even if the fob battery is fine. It only happens when the truck's been sitting outside in the extreme cold for hours. Did a battery test: Car battery sits around 11-11.5 v when in that situation.

Might be time to inspect / replace your car battery with one that can cope with extreme cold better? That's what I'm about to do.

It is probably due to a low battery voltage because of the cold weather. It's probably at the end of its cycle life if it is 3 plus years old. It will work fine as long as it is warm, but will eventually fail you in the cold.
You can try putting a battey tender on it to keep it above 12 volts. That might help get for a while.
I'm here in the DMV also. It is suppose to be even colder this weekend then today.

The statement that [MENTION=126590]bloodninja[/MENTION] posts here is true! The only other issue now might be that when the Security system ecu/Main body compu Hiccuped (malfunctioned), it may have damaged files in the drive, thus creating a need for a Master Reset! If it continues to happen, disconnect the truck's battery and leave it that way for a minimum of 4 hrs. This should put things back to factory spec.

I did not have the dealer install an alarm, just whatever came with truck. This isn't the first time this has happened so I'll try the battery disconnect trick.

Some dealers and ports install them before sale, used to do it at our dealer years ago; but they caused more problems than they were worth to hike the price up.

On the key fob there is a built in key you can remove to unlock the door manually if needed.

In guess the door you are trying to open has a busted door lock actuator. I have gone through 4 and the 5th just went at 62k miles on a 2013 limited
