Lets just say I went to a vendor on a long shot and drooped an application to see if they need help. If all goes well my plan is to bring us a new vendor that we all know well. I hope I can get the marketing spot but we will see. It is still very early to tell. I don't mind your comment and i get the apples and oranges comparison.

I do agree that joke offers (60% or lower) are rude to say the least and I am not in favor of them at all.

But I also feel that so many people try to ask wayyy high amounts for their 4Runners in CL section. They believe (perhaps accurately) that lurkers will overpay.

I rarely go into the CL section but I recall the multiple threads with ridiculous asking prices.

Just to make things a little more clear, no one was permanently banned. Both kid and *****azz got a one week temp ban. IF they continue their childish actions when they come back then they will most likely get a permanent ban.

What did I just missed? What happen to freedom of speech? The kid was trying to sell his 4runner. Am I going to get banned to for speaking about this? People like "the kid" help build and make T4R into what it is now. His input and eagerness to help other in need was greatly appreciated by me and others. Why not give him a warning?

Kid - maybe come back with new username as "the parent". "the kid" will me missed. You're input is always welcome in my book.

There is absolutely no reason to act this way on a forum, especially to the comment that started this rant. I like the kid, but that was going way too far and uncalled for. This site is a privilege, not a right and it's really not that hard to follow the rules.

In regards to your freedom of speech comment, really? Gosh I hate that saying sometimes. I'm all about being able to say what you want, but there will be consequences. This forum has a very specific and laid out guideline on language and member to member interactions. If you follow them, you're fine, but "Freedom of Speech" as you call it will get you banned. It's not wanted nor needed on this forum. It doesn't mean we all need to act like princesses and be polite all this time, but blatantly swearing at another member and attacking them is in NO way the spirit that this forum upholds.

In regards to his actual for sale thread, I'm not happy that mods just delete the thread. A simple locking of the thread and notifying the OP to correct it will take care of any threads that do not comply with the new martketplace rules.

your 100% correct, my rant was against forum rules, ill stop short of saying inappropriate, because i think it was appropriate. i said nothing that any body else(who had/has had interactions with him) didnt already feel about him, i just had the balls to say it, and was caught at the right time...
i think the freedom of speech comment came more with the add getting pulled than me getting the axe for my rant but yeah either way..

I didn't see the ad, but I'm guessing that it wasn't posted in accordance with the classifieds rules that were posted.

Mods, I'm not calling anybody out, but for whatever it's worth I agree that just deleting a post without any notification to the poster why it was deleted or how he can fix it is heavy-handed. It's very jarring to the sense of community around here when posts just magically go missing, and it smacks of the heavy-handed moderation I've complained about in the past.

In my (perhaps worthless) opinion, a note in the thread, and perhaps a PM to The Kid to follow up, would have served the same purpose. He fixes his post, rules have been complied with, everybody is happy. Now you have drama, and drama sucks.

I saw it before it got taken down and while I don't know the guidelines by heart I know there atleast has to be a price, which there wasnt. That's the whole point of selling is money right? yeah i left out location, cause under my screen name and avatar it states where im located, so i figured it didnt need it in the post title. i left out a price because so many times here and other places people thing their rigs are worth so much more than they really are or people are willing to pay for them. i wasnt trying to start an auction here, but i simply didnt want to ask a ridiculously high price and waste every ones time when it wont sell at the price i ask for it... yeah i could lower the price, but once a buyer starts to lower the price, sellers tend to sit and watch until the price drops well below reasonable before they bite. i also understand that everyone wants a good deal, EVERYONE(yes i know i just violated another forum rule there typing in caps...) that means the seller too. i am looking to get a new vehicle, so i need to get something out of my truck to make that possible. im not saying i need to get $20k so i can go put a down payment on a new cummins diesel but im not gonna drive an 82 civic that is held together with tape and a prayer either. to be honest im not sure what my truck would or will bring, thats why i was asking for offers. i want it to sell fast, and still make a buck(i know im gonna take a serious hit on it and ive come to terms on that) i had no intentions of breaking rules, i dont often post in the classifieds, i think this is my second post there as far as selling goes.

For what it's worth, I wish people could just follow the few simple rules and everyone will get along and be happy. That's not the case so the kid got what he earned. His for sale thread was not even remotely close to the guidelines so it got axed... By me. If all of us mods had time to hold everyone's hand and pat them on the behind (aka: breast feed) everyone then we would. The fact is that he has been around for a while and knows the rules. Heck, the posting guidelines are in each sub forum. Usually if someone skips one on the guidelines then we'll let it slide and ignore it. But when guys skip several guidelines then their thread gets moved. They don't get deleted. If someone sends us mods a pm (which is pretty common) asking us what happened and how we can help then we always do. If they don't then they can either recreate their thread or forget about it.

I'm sorry if some people don't like it. As I have said before, us mods are here to help (yes help, believe it or not) everyone. Unfortunately, in order to please the masses there will be a few who don't like it.

this goes both ways, to mods too... sometimes mods abuse their powers or chose when and where to enforce the rules, i have noticed serious inconstancy here, and things get let fly that in other places they should not, you want to enforce all the rules great, then enforce all the rules all the time. and mods need to be the "lead by example" on the forum, i have called mods out before about things(in a professional but to the point manor) and im not against doing it again if needed.

this was not the first issue i had had with him, and yeah i was already hot under the collar so it rubbed me the wrong way. i had PMed him a while back asking what i had done to piss him off or offend him, after he had been repeatedly making jabs and comments about my screen name, they were inappropriate and off topic and irrelevant to the threads in which they were posted in(i also went and searched all, yes all of his posts and found that at least 30% and thats being generous to him, he was not being helpful in his comments and being less than mature). i asked him what i could do to fix things and what his issue was, i was polite, professional and respectful, i did not use profanity or insult him or call him names ect. i asked that he please inform me what i had done to upset him, so i could fix it and we could all be friends and get along and have rainbows and ponys for everyone... yeah ok i didnt add the last part but you get the point. i got no reply, nothing and the jabs stopped for a little while, he found others to pick on (-yeah i kept watching him) and then he came back to me and thats when i had had it with his *****aaz... pun intended so pleased dont ban me again.

yeup i really said all of that, every last letter and punctuation mark too... yeah to be perfectly honest the only rules i knew about where these rules, i had read them over and over...

most of us at one time or another have broken at least one of these rules, and i do agree that probably 50%, and thats a conservative number, of users do not read the rules when they join. i for one did (yes i want a cookie) and knew them, still do, maybe not word for word, but i know when someone is in violation of a rule. COB and i got into it when i was fairly new, he went off on me about something that i called him out on, and it was my fault, i didnt understand a term or acronym he used and i told him he was wrong, when he wasnt... he lost his cool and went off on me and he got a week suspension for it, now him and i are friends, and he has actually helped me out to hear my side of things while this whole thing has been going on. my point is here, that we are all human, we all make mistakes, and not everyone is perfect, even the mods. but with everyone being adults we should all be able to work together just fine even if we dont like the other person. there are a few people here i dont care for and not just "...aaz", but if i am gonna stay(and that is still TBD) i will need to continue to put that aside and be a grown up. and yes i know i am rather opinionated and that i need to work on that. idk why but its only here, i typically dont like to argue in personal life, i guess its just the disassociation that you get with the internet or texting ect that it makes it easier to think the other person is not a person...

If you list your T4R for $5k over KBB don't be surprised when we tell you it is worth $3k or whatever less than KBB.

The purpose of the forum isn't to help people rip off future members by overcharging lurkers for a 4Runner. T4R.org gets nothing off of a classified sale so its hard to argue that the site has any interest in the price of the vehicles or items sold.

i agree 100% and thats why i wanted offers, i didnt want to waste anyones time with asking too much for my runner, i dont want to hear the "whats your bottom dollar" either. you think my price is too high then make me an offer, i was just trying to eliminated a lot of hassle, i see now i created way more than i was trying to eliminate lol.

I've talked to the kid a few times outside the forum. He's generally a pretty mellow guy. I was surprised to see him fly off the handle like that too. But we all have out bad days, I've been there and I'm sure everyone reading this has too.

Mods, I get the no hand holding thing. But couldn't you just PM people that their threads will be moved if they don't correct them immediately? Don't even tell them what's wrong, just a generic: "Your thread XXX will be moved unless (or even until) it meets forum posting rules.

Not blaming his tyraid in you guys, just thinking of a different way to handle these situations. And yes, I know they could be avoided if people just read the rules. But show me any forum where the members are tight in the rules.

thanks man, and yeah the tyraid was purely on me, i knew i was gonna get banned for it, and my 4runner was up for sale, and i plan on upgrading to a 100 series LC so really wont have much use for t4r when its gone, so it wasnt gonna be a huge loss if i did get a perma-ban. that being said im glad im back if only to state my side of things, and thank you all for your support.

In a perfect world we would shoot a message to the member who made the thread. Unfortunately that takes a lot of time that we don't always have. Sometimes we may go through the threads and just fix one thing here and there too. But as stated before, his thread was wrong in several ways.

i might be going a little far out on a limb here, but you seam to be acting almost defensive here, like saying things you have said before again... not only that but for not having the time to let me know what was wrong about my post, you sure do seam to have a lot of time to post up here...

The example you listed is apples to oranges of what makes a disrespectful lowball. I dont go in the "Vehicles" section because i already have a 4R, so yeah, my experience is with all the other sections and the tons of other forums i buy and sell on.

Bottom line for me is, i cant stand some ignorant douche making lowball offers for quality parts, wastes everyone's time and clutters a thread.

yeah i didnt want to waste peoples time by offering runner that was over priced, i didnt want to seam like i was trying to take advantage of someone. i fully expected him to make a crazy low ball offer like $1500 cause it wont drive or something like that, and id just ignor it and move on, maybe ask a mod to remove the comment idk but yeah all in all the add is back up with a $7k obo, if anyone thinks im asking to much please be real and post up a price you think is more fair. i understand it wont drive and no one likes to buy a vehicle that cant be test driven. but with that being said, i have a pretty well documented build on most of my major stuff, and i very good maintenance record, and as close as anyone can come to a dealer maintained vehicle with out having to pay dealer prices.

Maybe it's just the strip clubs in my area. Between Cheetah's Gentlemen's Club and Atlantis, any food eaten will surely come back up once you see the women. I've seen a tampon string hanging out of a bikini before. Not very appetizing
