Killer deal on Kenwood Touchscreen NAV Head Units

Hey all,

Found a super awesome deal on a touchscreen head unit and I thought I'd pass this along. A couple guys on the Land Cruiser forum bought them and seem to like them.

These are NOS 2007 Middle East Market Kenwood DVD/CD/NAV radios.

I've read that you can get the nav to work with some finagling. You're on your own for DVD.

I'm probably going to pick one up for my rig.

Thanks for posting that. I ended up doing a good deal of research on it tonight and might go for it.

Since the power harness is not included, this is the best option I found for it. If you search for the specific harness for the 7200, you'll find one that's $43! this is only $25. Make sure you get the 22 pin WITH the 4 pin connector If you'd like to try your luck elsewhere.

DNX7100 is the US version, if you can find it new it's still about $1000.

Just purchase or download an unlocked version of the garmin map software and burn it to an SD card.

I think part of the function of that JBL interface is turning on the factory amp. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Are there any audio specialists in the room that can comment?

Does anyone have this in a 3rd gen? The screen size is almost 7" which, when I search on google, people have had problems with.

You're right but I think those amps needed a specific adapter to even turn the amp on, from the HU. Could be way off.
On a side note, I am ordering one tonight and will let you guys know how it goes.

I had the DNX7100 (I think) in my Xterra for about 6-7 years, and I loved it. What sold me was the Garmin navigation and the fact that it's the only double din I could find with a "negative" tilt. It helps if your dash is angled upwards and you want to avoid glare.

Even a cheap AM/FM/CD unit has an output for an amp/power antenna.

Aftermarket amps, and some OEM amps use a remote turn on, which is merely a low current 12 volt input. The JBL amps actually use a data signal from the h/u to tell it to turn on. This is where the JBL adapter comes in.

Some of us completely remove the JBL from the equation so there is nothing to worry about. Also, replacing the speakers you will generally get better sound.
