Today the switch plate that goes under the radio came in
Did you make this or order it from somewhere?

They make a few nice items. Switch plate where the ashtray goes, scangauge plate where the ashtray goes..... And it's actually good price.
So I installed 2 breakers. 1 bussmann @100amp for the relay box and another bussmann @100amp for blue sea fuse box. The blue sea fuse box will be for small stuff. Such as underhood light and stuff.
Got stainless steel Allen key bolts with washers and rubber washers to mount it. I used a river washer in between the breaker and the metal on one side and used a rubber washer on the other side where the nut goes.
Stuck my hand through that hole to screw the rubber washer and on. Painful haha
Some wires made for the breaker to battery. 4gauge. I'm going to take the electrical tape of and use shrink wrap over the wire loom another day.

Did you have to modify the switch insert? I checked out the site you posted but noticed it's all Tacoma stuff. Just want to be sure I'm getting the right piece. Thanks
No sir. The first gen Tacoma is same as our 4Runner for the switch plate. The only thing that won't fit is probably the plate for the clock that they make. I just had to file it a little because the inserts for the switches were very tight. Better tight then loose though.
Love this build.. Hoping to do similar stuff to mine. The rust under the carpet scares me a bit, I have some rust on my wheel arches. I'm gonna tear up the carpet and pray I dont have any of that under there.

Well I had the carpet out so I por15 the floor and all the area where the weather door seal goes on.
I had rust in in rocker pannel, patched that.
Then had rust hose in rear fender. Por15 from outside and inside. Then used por15 epoxy to seal it.
Are you referring to my rust hole on the fender well ? The huge one ??

Yeah, Thats the one. Good job patching it. I don't have the facilities or tools to do that kind of work, so if I find something it'll be expensive. Praying I dont find anything lurking.
Today I put the grill back together. After monstalining the grill which I think it came awesome. And the back license plate trim is good to.
Got a 5 channel amp of eBay for $100 used. It's worth $250 so I think it was good. And it's small
Then went to local flea market and got a JL sub for $15

I know it has been said before, but this is a very impressive build because of the attention to detail. I am very obsessive over neat finish, and wiring being done right the first time. (borderline OCD) I love how you have done this and hope you don't mind me borrowing some ideas. I have a question though, Having run wires through this area before on several other cars, have you tested to see if the threshold trim will fit back over the wiring run through here?

They fit, but only after I removed one of the 4 gauge wires. This wire was my 5 channel amp. So I ran it through center. Now that said, I had to trim the trim pillars. It's easy. You can actually see where the wires sit and you trim it. On the underside of it. And with a little cursing and playing around it fits.
On the driver side I am running the following, one 4gauge wire. Five 12 gauge wires, and some extra wires near the driver seat which are small but are for viper alarm. So that adds thickness in that area.
Through the center I have running, one 4gauge amp wire. Ten 14 gauge wires.
On the passanger side I have ten 16 gauge wires, 3 sets of rca wires and a 9wire.
Everything is taped with 3m tape into seperate harnesses. And I used wire look to go over it so it adds extra protection.
All wires are covered in this.

I ended up taking the the red 4gauge wire, the black 4gauge wire and the orange set of wires coming out of the gromet under the hood and put them individually into the wire loom also.
Reason for the 5 orange wires is so I can easily tap into them for my accessories. And I already have my switch and power wires under my head unit for the rocker switch. Which eliminates the need of that ugly light harness.
I also have 5 wires going to the back. For 5 accessories. Same idea.
