Hit some trails this weekend and got the truck muddy. My engine bay is filthy so I'm going to detail it over the next few days.

Gave her a good bath today and detailed the interior. Also installed Weathertech floor liners in the front and back.

My best friend brought out her Ford Escape equipped with BFG Rugged Terrains. It seemed to do alright through the different mud holes we hit. I did hear the front end bottom out multiple times though haha

Today I did the ISR mod (Intake Silencer Removal) and took the opportunity to clean the throttle body.

Intake silencer removed:



Lots of carbon build-up on my throttle body:



Throttle body cleaned:



Used some vacuum hose we had laying around to connect the FPR to the rear of the plenum



Cut my piece of metal tubing (5.5" x 2.75") and painted it



Reset my EFI map and voilà!

In less than a month I'll be leaving for the US Navy. I'm planning on parking the 4Runner at my grandparent's garage so that it has a roof over it and is out of the way. I have a new Koyo radiator I'm installing before I park it.

My father said he's going to take her out for a drive every now and then and keep the oil changed for me. He also said he's going to take it mudding and do jumps with it (joking of course). I said "that's cool just don't put any dents in it and if you blow my shocks replace them with Billy 5100's".

I'm not looking forward to leaving my 4Runner but it's going to be that much sweeter when I get to come home to her. I'm planning on getting another vehicle while I'm in the Navy (thinking a new Tacoma ) so I'm going to go balls-out with the 4Runner once I'm out.

I'm planning on getting:

-CBI plate rear bumper with swingout
-ARB air locker for the rear diff
-Taller springs and adjustable shocks to lift the truck up to ~4 inches front and back
-swaybar disconnects
-full skids
-HID's
-Winch for my ARB
-color-matched Sport hood
-Tundra brakes
-extended rear brake lines
-Field monitor

I also plan on getting new tires. Im going to sell my 32" ST Maxx's so I can get some.......wait for it.........MORE ST MAXX"S but in 255/85r16. Moving up to 33's. I've taken the Cooper's through snow, sand, and mud and they have NEVER let me down. They do excellent on the road and are very quiet for how aggressive they are. The 3-ply design and puncture resistance gives me a lot of confidence that I probably won't suffer a flat tire while off-roading or driving on the road. I seriously think the Cooper ST Maxx's are some of the BEST tires on the market.

I am stoked to start my adventure in the US Navy and am just as excited for the future of my 4Runner. I'm just getting started with her

Today my father said "did you do something to your truck? I can smell gas in the exhaust". It had to have been how I routed the hose from the FPR to the rear of the plenum during the ISR mod. The truck was running rich.

I re-routed the hose from the FPR back to it's original destination (to the intake BEFORE the plenum). I feel better about it now. No more gas smell

Installed two Avec LED spot lights to my ARB. I rigged them up to the same switch that my light bar is connected to. Everything comes on with the single switch

Ordered some Pro Comp 16x8 wheels through 4WheelParts. I'll post up some pictures when they arrive

Thanks man, I'm hoping I end up out west in Cali or Hawaii and have my Runner shipped out there for some wheeling!
